Tales of the Jedi was released yesterday! Here is my review for all six shorts. What I liked, what didn't work for me as much, and how I think the entire series works together to explore what it means to be a Jedi.

Those Dooku episodes were some of the best animated Star Wars we have gotten. The Sith Lord is instantly one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars content

this justifies that we need more animated Dooku episodes

i Think that scene with Dooku and Yaddle is more symbolic then what you mentioned.

when yaddle opened the Door, the Light shone through and it made Sidious recoil in disgust, but Dooku was unphased as he was still redeemable, but when it finally closed for good as yaddle collapsed, Dooku is left in Darkness, one of his own doing, as he was the one who closed the door on Yaddle. in that moment, the light faded from Dooku as he embraced the Dark finishing her off.

Ashoka’s episode practice hits so different. Hearing anikan say yes every other Jedi does this training. Really showing how anikan prepared her to survive unlike other Jedis.

I love Ahsoka so I'll watch anything with her, but the Dooku stuff was awesome because it's new material that explores previously unexplored parts of the story.

The way Ahsoka killed that Inquisitor was quick and amazing.

You know what Count Dooku and Ahsoka had in common? They both left the Jedi Order after learning how corrupt the Jedi Order was.

these shorts do not contradict Dooku Jedi Lost, Dooku Jedi Lost said that Dooku would continue to visit the order even after he stepped down from his position as a Jedi, and likewise Jedi within the temple would still continue to call Dooku “master” even though he was no longer a Jedi, so him being at the temple during the phantom menace and then being called master wasn’t a retcon for Dooku Jedi Lost

The episode with Dooku & Mace was glorious because it proved that the Jedi council became a warped reflection of the Galactic Senate. Remember that in the Phantom Menace Padmé had unequivocal proof that the Trade Federation had invaded her planet but instead of actually taking any action, the Senate instead wanted to create a fact finding committee because no Senator wanted to jeopardize their political career. Mace saw the same chicanery Dooku saw and yet wanted to simply pass word back to the council because he didn't want to risk his chair. As George once said, _"it's like poetry, it rhymes."_

The Dooku arc was the finest SW content I've seen in ages. In love with it.

I never realized Dookus departure and the Phantom Menace overlapped. I thought Dooku was already a sith by the time those events happened. Mind blown!

I would take an entire show or film about dooku. Love Christopher Lee's performance in the films but never felt like the character developed enough, this little context gives me a whole new love for the character.

Agree with everything Alex says here. The only other thing I would add is that it feels like a wasted opportunity to not show Dooku corrupting his kyber crystal, and Ahsoka purifying hers. Would have made another awesome parallel. Also, yes, those dog creatures in Ahsoka's village were the best! <3<3<3

During the last Episode I had to think of the line from the Grand Inquisitor in Kenobi, about the Jedi-code being like an itch. Ahsoka (and actually Cal in JFO) both blow their cover by not resisting the urge to help the people around them

The Practice Makes Perfect episode also, and in all its dopeness, why Ashoka began using two lightsabers. Without them she couldn't defend herself to the level Anakin challenged her to. That was a big takeaway for me.

I couldn't help but feel emotional with the first ahsoka episode, while watching her as a baby my mind was replaying her biggest moments, clone wars, rebels, the mandalorian, Boba fett. The influence this child will have on this galaxy is unimaginable and hit me really hard.

This is the first time I've felt bad for Dooku. Corey Burton and the animators did such a great job at making jedi Dooku so likeable.

The Dooku shorts were super good. Also think that the planet that Ahsoka is on in episode 6 is the same one that Dooku and Qui Gon visit in episode 2. People and locations looked pretty similar

At 15:28 here, when Bail was telling the Shocktroopers (so Ahsoka would hear) that if they need anything, they should call him, I had what I think is a clever idea: When the Empire starts purging the clones for use of recruited troops, it would be interesting for Organa to get a call from one of those guys asking for safe haven. Organa would have to take a moment to remember what the hell they're talking about, and then decide if he wants to help one of the early oppressors or not.

And yes, I think he would end up helping. That would also give us an "in" for another old-timer clone out there somewhere trying to do some good to pay homage to his rescuer.
