As some one is who in the realm of Deism who came from Christianity this is just false. This man is spreading his close mindedness. He is thinking of a Deist who came from atheism. I was a Christian who spoke often at church and I played guitar in a worship band for Jesus. The more and more I studied the Bible the less and less I believed in all of it. Honestly I hated myself as a Christian. I thought I was a terrible person and I just constantly do wrong and felt shunned even though I was trying my hardest to carry out the word of Christ. I had all the information that caused me to change however I still held on. I still prayed every night for forgiveness and to be a better man. I prayed for the bad things in my life to pass over. I gave my thanks to God and I gave and I made my request know to him just how his word said to do. No matter how hard I tried to worship I didn’t feel the feeling of the Holy Spirit anymore. It felt like God had abandoned me. I soon realized that those feelings are just us convincing ourselves of that feeling. It has the same sort of feeling in worship as feeling anxiety. I was just forcing that feeling out of myself to convince myself of those things. I then found the Jungian Guide to Physic Phenomena and formed some ideas based around it applying to my own life. I had heard of Herbert McCabe but it was only now I understood his quote. So I had decided that I believe in a creator however I do not believe in one who answers our prayers. God isn’t a he. God is creator. I do not believe in a Heaven or Hell. I learned a little bit about the Kabbala and formed my own ideas. So I dove into philosophy and personal beliefs. Consciousness had led me out of depression. Being aware of the ways Christianity degraded me and led me to my deepest depression. The tons of time I was spending on Christianity is mow being spent within myself and I finally feel grounded and happy. The argument that Deism and it’s forms are useless are ignorant. And especially that Deism can’t be spiritual. Like I had mentioned the feeling we feel in worship are the same as feelings we feel outside of church. Another example is the feeling I felt as a kid believing that God had good plans for us made me feel safe and warm. The exact same feeling I feel when thinking back on an old partner who comforted me through something. Sentimentality is what that is. Another thing is meditation is the same as say being on your knees while listening to worship music. You’re channeling a focus upon a state you’d like to reach in your body and mind. It’s a focus in feelings is what spirituality is and as a deist doesn’t let people tell you that you aren’t spiritual. I am more than ever In touch with my feelings.

The idea of religion itself makes religion pointless the way it is followed. If religion is the end of the journey for understanding god then how come there are so many religions with their own version of god fighting over one another trying to prove theirs is right. Religion is man made. Just like there are many cultures in the world there are many religions. The idea of deism is to understand god in ones way without belonging to a particular sect because people are all different with different ways of expressing themselves so by being a deist you learn to accept those differences, unless ofcourse you can respect those differences even if you belong to a particular religion.

Islam is not something you believe because its true. Islam is something you believe because you've eliminated all the other religions, thinking one of them has to be it.

Talk to Muslims and this is the number one thing you notice.

Religion is all subjective and all a concept people have put on God, you don’t need to be part of a particular religion to know God, just look around you, nature, animals, life, that been created by a higher power. You don’t need a religion or a book to tell you that.

This guy didn’t prove anything. Come on. He just said Deism is a pit stop. Maybe. But if you don’t believe that all the religious books are correct, then you’re a deist. You don’t have to believe in Islam. I was Muslim for 21 years, studied with people in Saudi Arabia, I get it that people want to say that Islam is the only way. But I don’t believe that anymore because you can’t confirm that it’s actually true. And there are a lot of questions that even these debaters can’t explain.

Deism isn't pointless. Deism forces you to understand God through reason and logic, by studying the tangible world around you. Deism trims the fat away from God - it removes the "special revelations" of prophets who claim to understand God in some unique way that others don't.

Religion is a mind cancer. I'm happy that people are finally evolving away from superstition. Reason, logic, objective-thinking, and honesty about the world and universe is all you need to know the Creator.

As a deist, i believe that it's up to us to go to God
We aren't worthy, we aren't (rationally, not morally) important FOR HIM (since i believe that worthiness is all relative [or subjective, however you wanna say it]), WE have to reach him, he gave us EVERYTHING, we don't deserve his help no more, if we want it, we have to "reach" it
Everything good in life is "reachable" only by worth, like heaven in Islam (moral worth in this case)

As an atheist born I confirm I went deist at 10yo asking my self questions about the universe, and I found Islam a 19yo. Beautiful religion and best lifestyle possible in there.

It’s funny how I was raised Christian and that led me to Islam and now I’m starting to think more like a Deist lol because to be honest I don’t think God interferes with creation
