I worked at Burger King when I was in high school. No shame is a honest job.

The dignity of a job. Anyone who belittles what you do to earn a buck, undoubtedly cannot do what you do.

I'm glad she pointed that out. Even older people work there to supplement their income.
And it ain't no joke at breakfast and lunch! 😅

Excellent answer not only that she worked there but why she even mentioned it. Content is important. Great job 👏🏿👏🏿

I love when she carves out space during rapid interview questioning to highlight something that’s been unconsidered.

She points out that she was young, a student when she had this job. She had a home and without the worry of a family. I would like to see Trump do one day at McDonalds.

I like the way she contrasted her job at McDonald's as a student, as opposed to the people who work there because they are trying to run a family. It is an important distinction, and one which Trump would never understand. Make sure you are registered, and VOTE! Take a friend to the polls. VOTE!

Bravo Madam Vice President . ❤

Not to mention every time he brings this up he is belittling every American who is currently working or has ever worked anywhere in that industry. By making fun of her, “sweating over the fries”, and then speaking (non coherently) in a condescending tone about her working there, he is mocking everyone in the service industry. By criticizing his constituents who work these jobs, that help keep America running, he shows his true colors and that he couldn’t care less about them. It just goes to show how out of touch he is with the people he claims to protect and care for.
Harris/Walz 2024! Vote BLUE down the ballot 💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸

I’m a fellow McDonald’s alumni just like her. Worked there for 10 years, and now I’m working for my home state as a deputy clerk. Just keep pressing on if you’re in one of those jobs right now, because they could lead you somewhere big down the road. Look where it lead “Mamala” Harris! 💙💙

Ex McDs employee. This is actually AMAZING that she both did this job and shared as much!

To this day (30 years later) I have a scar from the hot, oily fry basket from my job at McDonalds. A reminder of where I started out, no shame in it. It’s honest work.

I worked at McDonald's in my junior and senior year of high school to save up for college. Most of my coworkers were adults. At the time, in the mid 2000s, over a million people had worked at McDonald's. Service workers are the true backbone of our economy. And they deserve respect.

That was real talk! How is there a script there? There ARE REAL people working at McDonald’s and trying to raise a family or their kids’ kids; and I’m glad she pointed that out. She’s been there, she’s seen it. 💙

Brilliant!
I worked at a nursing home as my second job when I was 15. I'd come home every night and cry. My dad finally made me quit the job. Then I worked at McDonald's, and in later years, I worked as a waitress and a bartender. Food service is hard. When people don't get want they want, or they think it's not up to par, and they're hungry, they can get really nasty.
It doesn't take much effort to be decent to people, even when something isn't right. Everyone deserves respect. I wish more people would remember that.

My spouse, G-d rest her soul, worked in a mall for 20 years, selling Cajun food and then selling pretzels. It's no one's dream job but she was doing it to help support our family. I just wish people would understand that there is no job that's beneath you.

So pleased I found this. I’m a Brit so will be respectful. Now I really like this woman. Politics aside she’s funny, modest, doesn’t take herself too seriously like a certain perma tanned nobody and knows the dignity of doing a decent day’s work for a very small wage, from experience. I’m in the wrong country to vote for her but if I could I would, Stu X
