This permutation exercise is an extension of Mark Guiliana's "Seven Sounds" exercise, but we'll add the left foot/hi-hat into the equation to develop better coordination with all four limbs.

I like to use this exercise to calibrate my brain and my hands when I first sit down to play. It's a simple way to feel more connected to the instrument and build mental awareness into all the grooves you play. Give it a try!
