Tropius should have been Meganium, it's just so much better || #pokemon review

In Scarlet and Violet, the models of a lot of flying Pokémon have been reworked to be on the ground again, and they look way better. Tropius looks great again!

Can we talk about how Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fixed Tropius model? It's no longer stuck on *AIRPLANE MODE* when it was in 3D and finally acts like a dinosaur creature.

Reminds me that Ash's Grovyle evolved into Sceptile just to impress a Meganium, but she still chose to be with a Tropius.
Poor guy couldn't use Grass-type moves for weeks after that

Years later I'm still in disbelief that the flying banana tree dinosaur has gotten absolutely zero love from the games since its introduction, especially during Gen 7 when it would have fit in perfectly! My boy deserves better.

In the 3D perma-flight model, its leaf-wings look tacked on, especially because they are connected to the rest of the body by such a small pivot, and their horizontal position visually reduces their size, making them look worse. It feels like they were glued to a grounded Pokémon just to give it a gimmick. But in the art and sprites the wings can be seen properly and you can tell that they are such an important part of Tropius' design. Not only do they complete the palm-tree inspiration, but they look like some sort of leafy halo that enhances the presence of the rest of Tropius' body.

Tropius, like Stantler, is just one of those Pokémon I saw for the first time as a child and instantly fell in love with. I can't explain it

I love both Meganium and Tropius. They definitely need a buff though

As a kid who loved dinos, I remember being in awe when I found this in Sapphire. It looks stronger than it is, I think it deserves a buff in some way

Man tropius constantly feels like that one pokemon that defines out of sight out of mind. Always forget he’s there and then I see him and I’m like “man that’s cool” and then he disappears from everything for awhile until he’s forgotten

Tropius has always been so damn cool which always made it annoying that it's stats are abysmal, and I don't mean somewhat below average, I mean we're approaching Luvdisc levels of awfulness. For a huge banana dinosaur, it desperately needs a buff.

Tropius is another one of those Pokemon that I wish would get an evolution or new ability or buff of some kind. It looks cool, but damn does it generally suck in battle :/

I've never been much of a pokemon fan, but I had a little pokemon guidebook as a kid that I would flip trough occasionally, and Tropius was always one of my favorites 😊

Funny you should mention Tropius, I walked around in Violet awhile ago and a Tropius approached me casually. I pulled out my camera and the little sweetheart looked straight into the camera and smiled at me.

Her name is Smiley and she's on my team now 😊

Tropius was so cool back in the day, hell even now with roms its dope to see in the wild.
