A couple of points: the Gdebi Installer in MX Linux doesn't come with its own repository (-ies), as it's only a plain installer to be used to install .deb packages. Also, comparing Mint with MX is not comparing apples with apples. Mint is an Ubuntu-based distro, hence the Ubuntu-esque look of its main software package manager, whereas MX is closer to Debian than it's to Ubuntu, so its main software package manager is not so eye-candied like its counterpart in Mint. However, MX comes out-of-the-box with way more system tools, which would have been obvious if you'd have opened the MX Tools sub-menu. Yes, both come with XFCE, but its implementation differs somewhat between the two distros. I've tried both distros, so all things being equal, I feel that MX is slightly more versatile than Mint, if for no other reason probably because, as a collaborative project between the AntiX and the MEPIX communities, the creators brought along a greater desire to justify the collaboration and not look like they have an identity crisis, which seems to plague so many other distros. I've got MX Linux installed on 4 vastly different baremetal systems, and MX is perfectly stable on all of them. Also, MX Linux already comes with the 5.17 kernel, unlike Mint, which just as its bigger cousin Ubuntu, seems to be slower with bringing the latest versions of the kernel, which is still at version 5.15, as well as everything else.

Static is very bad. I thought my phone blew its speaker. You might want to edit the audio by lowering the db by a few bars. Might need to run it thru a filter if it's from a bad mic.

That being said, pretty good comparison video. Thx

Could you test the BigLinux distribution? It is a popular distribution in Brazil, but it is very little known in other countries, but it is perhaps the fastest KDE that comes in a distribution.

Would the software manager with MX Linux be better with the KDE version?

I'm really struggling to do permanent installs to bootable USB drives with Linux Mint - getting a usable snapshot of my system with system changes that have evolved over time. Will MX Linux be easier to do this?

I miss PeppermintOS 6 desktop environment and theming. I wished I could just upgrade the kernal and packages on it. Everyhing else seems too bloaty for me or so simplistic it conplicatea everything.

I still recommend mint for beginners friendly

You'd think that you'd familiarize yourself with the packages if you're making comparisons. MX software, the first one that you hated, works GREAT for me!

MX Linux is systemd-free, for those who care about that stuff. For a simple desktop, it does not seem to make much difference though.
