Using hell as control. It's so damaging and it warped my mind as a child..Glad I got a better perspective as an adult and much happier

Eternal punishment for sins that aren’t eternal is illogical. Imagine a judge sentencing everyone from jaywalkers to mass murders to the exact same sentence

That is exactly right! And how many people are "scared" into accepting Jesus, and then follow him and his teachings out of "love" because they fear going to hell? What kind of love is based on fear?

I wish there were more people like you out here telling us the truth about this. I wish i heard this when I was a child. I lost so much time and joy over fearing hell. Thank you.😊

For people to think such a horrendous place would even exist is just as evil as those who sin

"God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind" --2 Timothy 1:7

The doctrine of eternal torment does two things:1. Makes God ( who is love) Into the vindictive architect of monstrously. 2. Makes it impossible for those who believe such things to express a pure love for God without fear of reprisal.
I am free to love and serve God My Father without either a morbid fear of death of eternal torment or any certainty of reward beyond faith in His promises.
That is pure.

These "End of Days" and "Left Behind" sermons and movies are the worst things you could do to a developing mind such as the 8 yr.old me that was literally damaged because of my church's "scare-tactics". When I was a little older I was really suspicious when I questioned if what I was even thinking is "blasphemy"...I drew the line there. I believe in God but take everything else I choose to believe in with faith, live the best I can, and am not concerned with the rest, God wants us to live our lives as happy people with love for ourselves and one another in our hearts...that's as much as I need to know.

OMG yes. So many evangelicals use the “scare you into conversion with the fear of hell” tactic. It’s so annoying.

I’m curious what was the weeping and Nashing of teeth all about then? Also those who are fearful, liars etc will have their place in the lake of fire??? It’s just hard to overlook those points. Answers please. Thanks

I’m curious well what does it mean when Jesus says “depart from me I never knew you, ye worker of iniquity”??? If they depart, then where else do they go is a good question. Thanks

Instinctually as a kid. I believed in my heart that God wouldn't create a place of suffering. I love God, but do not have a group that I can share my worship with.

I was 12 years old. At Sunday school teacher told me if I say, or even think this “thing” I will go to hell without any chance of forgiveness because it’s the one unforgivable sin. So then I was fighting my own mind to not think of the thing he told me not to think. And I accidentally thought it. Immediately my life was ruined. Everything grew dark. Figuratively and literally. I became an insomniac. I was constantly battling my own thoughts. I could barely function. Until one day I just “gave up”. Then I realized it was all just bull chips. Lol. It took 6 years for me to recover. An evil teacher that thought he was doing good.

Applause for you. 👏
_Sheol_ שאול (and _Hades_ ᾍδης) & _Gehenna_ גֵיא־הִנֹּם‎, the Valley of Hinnom, the garbage pit south of Jerusalem where the inhabitants used to burn garbage and the corpses of infirm people and condemned to death, whether they were political rivals or conflict enemies...

It's so nice to find someone who knows the matter.

Hell doesn't exist.
Let's life free and happy, with a moral compass.

People who do great wrong often never knew any love as children & were horribly abused, etc. They then helplessly continue the pattern. That's Hell. Now let's throw them into another eternal hell because Jesus loves all of the children, right? It's a rotten vicious cycle and no one even gets the chance to feel love or be healed ~ ever? And yet we are told that God is all merciful & loving? It's a horrible contradiction. We even fight over our different Gods ~ to the point of murdering one another. It's just not the stuff of godliness.

That hell isn’t in the Bible couldn’t be more clear. It was one of the first things I noticed when i started studying the Bible. Only I was told I had to believe it “cuz then Jesus didn’t need to die for you.” When my answer became “so what?” I didn’t have any friends at church any longer.

Now I understand hell is very important for people to know they are going to heaven. You can’t know you’re a good person without bad people to contrast with. Religions is so sad

Could you please add closed captioning to this video too? It is important so people who are deaf or hard of hearing or who have an Auditory Processing Disorder can learn too. Thank you. 🌈

I'm honestly so glad that I found this video. Jesus Christ recently saved me from a cocaine addiction that I suffered from for years. It was honestly in exact conjunction with when I started praying daily that my cravings simply ceased to exist anymore. I know that sounds inscrutable but that's honestly how it happened. I know for an unequivocal fact that it was Jesus Christ who purged me of my affliction and that He is 100% real!

However... when I started reading the Bible and thinking about Hell, all it did was perniciously instil fear, guilt and worry that I was constantly doing things wrong that were going to inexorably send me to Hell. I got so worked up that in my last prayer I said: "I am going to continue to live my life in Jesus Christ's name, I will endeavour to be Christ-like but I can no longer accept Hell as a reality and refuse to worship such a God." God created Lucifer, who was corrupted by iniquity and then went on to deceive God's people, therefore sending them to Hell. Doesn't this make God tacitly responsible for the destruction of His own people!? He was the one who made Lucifer who actively deceives everyone! And if God is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent, wouldn't he be aware of Lucifer's fall before it happened and which souls would go to Hell before He made them? He says he knew us before we were in the womb. So basically that would mean He created everything knowing millions would burn in Hell forever? It just doesn't make sense!

Thanks again for your video it is helping put my mind at ease. I am simply refusing to live in fear anymore. God bless.
