Mysterious Monolith Discovered in Utah Desert

A mysterious monolith has been found in the Utah desert after a pilot spotted it from a helicopter.

The metal structure is between 10 and 12ft high and seems to have been planted firmly into the ground.

The pilot who made the discovery, Bret Hutchings, was flying for the Utah department of public safety and helping wildlife resource officers count sheep in the state.

The monolith and its surroundings resemble a famous scene from Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 film ‘2011: A Spacey Odyssey”.

I'm surprised and and disappointed in the biologist that discovered it as he failed to do the diligence before dismissing it as a hoax our a tribute to the film. As a scientist he should have been inclined to see if it was even remotely level (even with a smart phone app) examined the welds at the corners closely to see their method and expertise and documented with close up pictures, check for strap marks on the surface especially att the edges, dug carefully beside it or near the base to see how hard the soil is at that location our of it its basically setting on rock and finally examined the ground for truck tracks on the way out once back in the helicopter. Even just looking around at the canyon that it's located in it looks to be an extremely hard to reach location by a large boom truck which would've been need to set it our was it set by helicopter? Was there evidence that it was fabricated on site or was it prefabricated in a another location like a shop and moved there. If fabricated in site there would be minut traces of the build process including slag, remenant pieces and grosser shavings. If this was a tribute which i highly doubt then someone went to allot off time trouble and experience and there would be evidence of it's been man-made or of it was manufactured ata higher level...
