Some of the Monolith was made by the YouTube channel called "I did a thing"

I live on the Isle of Wight, England, and one of these monoliths popped up on a beach here. It got some beautiful photos taken of it at sunrise / sunset.
FYI, our one was made of mirrored perspex.

The book 2001, and the movie were written at the same time thus creating two drastically different versions. The book did inspire parts but that’s because Kubrick and the writer were in more conversation towards the beginning, yet as the book was being written and the movie being made at the same time the middles and endings began to shift.
