My father served in PHQ and the most common thing he told during his service was - sahab log bas baithe rahte hain cabin me, khana peena aata rahta hain...aur sab karmchari unke chakkar me baithe rahte hain.
Unke bangle me to sarkari naukar lage rahte hain aur humare yaha sabji bhi hume hi lekar jana hota hai.

Even I worked in PHQ for 3 months and saw the drama of misuse of power and public fund.

What you have achieved in your life, is very rare thing for a common man.

Very tough in IT unless project leadership is understanding enough, or the firm is product based. At some level of seniority in Indian firms the norm is such that you should stay late.

In a fast paced technology world even if you are working efficiently now, if you don't 'fit in' one may be affected in terms of learning where in other colleagues might not help/mentor/guide you in acquiring toolkits to do your daily tasks and continued learning.

Still, one should carefully navigate one's career and should not feel shy about choosing a better option where efficiency is prioritised.

More common in men than women. Women wind up in time as their second duty at home begins in evening.
