1941 - Topography of the Western Desert

A short video to illustrate the distance and topography covered by the 6th Infantry Division/ XIII Corps during Operations Compass, Brevity, Battleaxe and Crusader in 1941.

My Grandpa was in the Corp when it converted to the 70th Infantry Division having been across the Western Desert several times, going on to serve in India and Burma.
He was 2nd Lieutenant in his 12th Field Company R.E. receiving a M.B.E. in 1941 aged just 21. He remained in the Army for many years and served as Chief Geographical Branch in NATO and Deputy Director of Field Surveys for Ordnance Survey.
