Do grocery pick up. Don’t even go inside. Shop your pantry to meal plan.

Summary:
1) Save on food. Plan your meals. Avoid waste. Don't go to grocery shopping when you are hungry.
2) Cut out all monthly expenses/subscriptions that are non-essentials. Find cheaper but acceptable alternatives to expensive items on the monthly expenses.
3) Don't buy coffee/drinks from store. Stop buying junk food, junk drinks, snacks. Don't buy processed food. Go out to eat out less.
4) Avoid impulse buying online.
5) Budget your expenses base on what you need to survive with a strict limit and save/invest the rest of the income.
6) Take advantage of promotional free bonus money ($200-300) by creating new accounts and setting up direct deposits.
7) Earning more: a) overtime, b) side hustles, c) get new skills and use to make money online

I started making my coffee at home this year and holy crap what a difference. Much healthier using sugar free options, and tastier, for a fraction of the price, even with using nespresso pods. Now when I buy a coffee I regret it immediately cause it’s just not as good and costs $6+. Make my coffee the night before while I’m watching tv and doing dishes, and it’s nice and cold the next morning without being watered down by ice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Okay… this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but if you’re struggling financially, and trying to save money, don’t keep pets. The amount of money spent on food, toys, hygiene, the vet, etc. can add up quickly.
I mention this because I have a relative who struggles hard financially. It blew my mind that while she was struggling to pay for basic necessities, she kept multiple cats. I swear she paid more money on them than almost anything else, and then constantly complained that she was broke.
If you’re an animal lover, maybe volunteer at your local shelter, or turn your passion into a pet sitting business or something. That way you get your animal fix without spending money you don’t have.

Take care of your health if you what to save money in the future.
Sell unwanted items around your home. Have go to easily meals when you don't want to cook. Shop grocery store sales, make your meal plan off of the sales and what you have at home.(Don't buy what your not going to eat) Learn to do your own home repairs and perform yearly maintenance on appliances and vehicles. Skip the dryer and hang a load once a week. Hand wash your dishes. I could go on. There are so many options to save money. Little things can add up over time. ❤

Since I am now debt-free, I still use credit cards but the rewards I redeem monthly and put in a savings account. I understand it is a very small amount but every dollar helps. Please keep in mind, that the credit card is also paid off every billing cycle.

I told my cashier at Publix they’ll soon need to place AED machines at each register 😂🤣

Healthy alternative drink: brew black tea bag and fruit tea bag together, add a little lemon and natural sweetener 😋

We keep leftovers on a designated shelf and turn there first for lunch when at home. Presents a lot of waste.

You make great points, but as someone on a pension (only source of income at the moment) saving even $5-K this year is a daunting task, what with increased rent, grocery prices, having just paid another $1.7-K in Federal Tax on top what was already taken out, bills, rising entertainment costs, and generally being nickel-and-dimed to death (last year a “sanitation charge” of $9/mo was added to my water/internet bill)

I’m very frugal w/ electricity, water, supermarket shopping (no meat, cheese, sodas, coffee, “impulse items”) and my phone bill is $35-40/mo but I’m seriously considering moving to save at all. It’s impossible these days, and neither major party is helping hard-working folks, or those who have and would like to find some modest income stream to supplement themselves.

Keep cash on you to avoid those 3% fees for using your debit card. In California, a few restaurants are charging it

Omg! I actually cancelled my Amazon earlier this month and my goal is to stop shopping online. Go in person instead and at businesses that I am okay with supporting.

My goal is to put an extra 25k a year on my mortgage. (For the next 10 years) So far i got 17k. Motivating factor? Freedom from wage slavery.
