The Math Question that surprised Einstein. Can you solve it?

I think this is the easier way to look at it

Ignore the 1mil up hill+ 1mile down hill

Instead 1 mile to the shop and 1 mile back.
Car A travels 15mph
Car B travels 30cmph

Because car A travels half the speed, when it does 1 mile to the shop, car B doing 30mph has done 2 miles to the shop and back
So for car A to average 30mph like car B it would have to travel instantaneously from the shop as soon as it arrived

And, I calculated it using common sense.

If we guess that first angle is 30°and other side angle is 60°and the middle angle is in ratio 6:3, then you have a unique answer . If you can try it.

It is possible for a car to travel at a constant speed of 30mph over the distance of 2 miles. It is also possible for a car to travel at 15mph half way then increase speed over the next half to average 30mph. What am I missing?

So, there's not enough to time to create the necessary average speed. This points to a balance point amount time, speed and distance.

It is only a puzzle because the wrong question is asked.
The question is : what speed does the vehicle need to travel in the 2nd mile in order to have an average speed of 30mph, .
The question is not : how fast does the vehicle need to travel to complete the trip in the same time it would take if the vehicle travelled at 30mph the entire journey.
The "puzzle" is a bait and switch.
the answer : What is the average speed of a vehicle during a two mile trip if the vehicle travels 1 mile at 15 mph and 1 mile at 45 mph ? 30 mph
