Sadly, it's speculated that Cleo left stackexchange due to people harshly criticizing her for posting answers without explanation.

Probably she was Maryam Mirzakhani. The first female mathematician who won Fields Medal. She died at age 40, and diagnosed with cancer from 2013 and worsened around 2015, which is somehow close to the time when Cleo stopped her online profile activity, as well as she stating in her bio "I am a female with special medical condition" which also could relate to Mirzakhani's illness. Anyway it's a guess.

I choose to believe Cleo has a very humble career and is a stealth genius in real life. Maybe Cleo is a university janitor and solves all of the problems on the blackboards in the math department overnight and they're all wondering who Cleo is too
