I understand that most reviewers are trying to keep a positive attitude when reviewing GPU’s nowadays but looking at a $600 card and saying “It’s got a backplate even though it’s a budget card, glad to see it.” I’d hope it has a backplate at bare minimum for the price

$599 "budget" card. What a world.

Great to see big channels pushing the narrative that $600-700 cards as budget. LOVE IT

It’s amazing that companies raised prices, are seeing slower sales and still can’t see a correlation

Man, remember the 1070 around 380 usd msrp and now the same tier 4070 is now more than 1.5x the price

This is somewhat unusual. Guess the AIBs are crazy desperate to move these things. I'd consider it at 500 bucks.

The TUF is 1030€ here in Germany right now.

I bought my 3070 Ti at the height of the GPU shortage for 850€.

We should hang on to our stuff while it works.

EVGA dropping out of the GPU market this generation should say something about these current cards…

I don't think it's too much to ask from a $600 card to handle 4K rather than 1440p. I am guessing since it was a sponsored video, Asus did'nt really wanted them to play at 4K maxed settings, but it's just a bit disappointing seeing companies charging this much for such minor performance bumps gen on gen.

We want better pricing, correct naming and decent amount of vram.

Nvidia's anticompetitive practices have killed any reason to watch partner card gpu reviews. You can sum up every review as 0-3% faster regardless of partner "OC" model, possibly running a little colder if it's a 3 fan model, and costing $0-100 more than the founders model of that tier.

These graphics cards never come close to overheating. GamerJesus said it best: sure you can put a stupid overspec'd cooler on the 4070 and it'll _technically_ have better thermals than the founders edition but is it really worth it? _The nicest thing about the 4070 is that it's actually a reasonably-sized card._ Making it the size of a 3080 Ti isn't a positive as far as I'm concerned.

If you're the type of person who cares that much about performance and squeezing everything they can out of their silicon, you didn't buy a 4070 anyway.

Yes, got to keep that 200W GPU cool at all costs.

That founders edition version reminds me of the days when reasonably powerful graphics cards were just two slot units, 2.5 slots from time to time.

Then you got the 4090 which could be used as a house foundation... Can't say it doesn't perform well, though. I'm certain these aftermarket coolers will certainly suffice in the cooling department :b

I would’ve like to see the dual on the test bench. Ofc the 3 fan card has great temps and low noise

Where I live, the dual is approx. 800$.
Even used 3090s are cheaper, around 710$.

Ah, yes, that wonderful $500 price tag.. Budget gamers rejoice!!

I like how reviewers went from freaking the hell out about the prices going nuts, and now an almost 700 dollar card is "budget". Good job helping the card manufacturers make massive bank. Really, good job you're doing for them.

It really is weird to see that single 8pin pcie cable on a "mid range" $600 40 series card. The Radeon RX 6600xt had two 8pin pcie cables. I know the 4070 outperforms the 6600xt but just looks weird with that single cable and you'd think there is a lot of potential that card left on the table by not including a second cable

Why not any Radeon cards in the performance charts? because 6800xt is cheaper and faster than the 4070?
