Gospel of Mark calls Jesus God in every chapter

I recently engaged in an online discussion with a Muslim. He argued that Mark’s Gospel is the earliest written and as such Jesus is a fully human non-divine figure. By the time we get to John (what he reckoned was the latest written Gospel), only then is Jesus understood as God incarnate. In other words, his argument was that there’s a progression in time with the belief of Jesus’ divinity. Here’s how I answered that by walking through the Gospel of Mark for him showing how Jesus is referred to as divine in every chapter.

I find the it really interesting that Moses and Elijah are the only two people that went on a mountain to meet God.

Your time collapse theory with Moses and Elijah is really interesting.

What you said about what happened on the mount of transfiguration was mind blowing. I never saw that connection until now. Thank you Wes!

This video left me speechless. I knew about the amount of prophecies fulfilled but the ones presented here were outstanding. Thanks for this, it was eye opening

Interesting thing about Isaiah 40 saying “the voice of the One crying in the wilderness”. There are 39 books in the OT and 27 in the New. This makes it 66 books. Isaiah reads like a mini Bible as there are 66 chapters Isaiah. The first 39 chapters are about law, the 40th chapter makes a complete 180 just like the book of Matthew in the NT. However, it’s believed that Mark is the earliest of the four gospels. So, 39th book of Isaiah is like the end of the OT. The 40th chapter is like the start of the NT, which goes on to “prepare the way of our Lord”.

Peter (Rock) James (supplanter) John (Grace) went up on the mountain. Read right to left. Grace supplants rock ( tablets of stone). Grace supplants the old way with rules regulations and ordinances with a personal relationship. On the mountain Jesus confirmed with Moses and Elijah that He had in fact fulfilled every law and every prophecy about Himself.
This short video was very well done.

Fun side note: Moses was told he could never enter the promise land (in flesh at least). He ended up there in the Mt of transfiguration spiritually.

Hey Wes. My husband showed me your videos for the first time a few nights ago. I love them so much and love what you're doing. Would love to also learn what you know. Besides trying to know the Bible front to back, I wanted to know courses should I take or what books would you recommend? Love the thought of knowing about the original scrolls and history.

Indeed, Jesus is God, He has come to see what it is to be Us, and to Lead Us, Back to Himself.

I think the passage about Jesus casting out the legion of demons is a good point: ”As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged him that he might be with him. And he did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and everyone marveled.“
‭‭Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬-‭20

He tells the man to confess what the Lord has done, and the man goes around confessing what Jesus did. I don’t know if this is a perfect example, but it feels so to me.
