I like the Songtan-style slightly more because of the simpler ingredients and thicker soup base. Some of the best budae-jigae I had was in and around Konkuk University & Sejong University. Pro-tip: if you're in Seoul, look around any major university or college and you'll find great budae-jigae places that are not expensive at all. :)

Songtan is actually my hometown! I grew up in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, my late grandfather worked on base and I actually have family who still live in the area. My grandmother would make budae jjigae just like this one on cold days and I've been looking for a similar recipe ever since. I don't know enough Korean to be able to get the recipe from her but it would mean the world to me if I was able to make this for my family and friends here in the states. Please make a video! Every korean knows the nostalgia of 손맛!

This is my favourite Korean food. I'm happy to see it on your channel! This style is so different than the style I make/eat (Ujeongbu) and thank you for teaching table manners because in Hawaii the local Korean style/manners is so different than the mainland Korean style so I hear from my friends a lot that I have bad manners from my mainland Korean friends LOL
