I Didn't Use Reverb On Vocals For 10 Years

I didn't use reverb on vocals for 10 years because of bad reverb plugins but also because using delay on vocals often makes for a cleaner mix. In this video I explain how how I use delay and echo when mixing vocals instead of reverb.

So first things first!! Your A True Bad Ass Dude. Another video played for start to stop. Never to old to learn. I went through a time a few years back i was using no effects on my film music. Its was kinda Jazz, Country, Blues, Southern Rock shit, I had one friend get after me so i started back down the verb and DL rabbit hole. Your a great teacher. I try to teach on my channel but at the end of the day Im just a old retired FOH dude. I have had alot of health problem's so when i stream i forget what im doing and it turns in to a shit show. I dont understand why your not at 500k subs. Its only taken me 2 videos to know if you when in my Black Book you and a had full of folks i would be picking your brain. Now that you mention it, I knew several people years ago who used delay instead of verb. They all mixed ITB. I on the other hand, have had a routine of short stereo delay, long mono delay, one stereo reverb, all mixed and fed forward/back in different proportions, but I never stopped mixing on a console with hardware effects.

Delays are way nicer and more flexible! to mix than any Reverb.

Do you purposefully leave one side of the tape delay on either the left or right, longer than the other for the car listening? Or is it to purely separate the speakers and give it the bigger feeling?
