“not a big obvious thing where you just fell down the Well” I don’t no why but that just made me have a good chuckle.

I know you and your staff are quite busy as I am in my life's chosen career. However, it speaks volumes when I get a reply to a question. Thanks again for your help and I wish you many more successful days ahead!

Yes - this is a great in depth lesson, and similar explorations of other effects would be most welcome.

Thanks for your efforts.

I need videos like this, I usually just play with the knobs until it sounds like I want it. I don’t really know what I'm doing, half the time I kind of fail to get what I'm looking for but I've been getting better at it.

Thanks for all the videos Justin, your lessons have had a big impact on my life. I love playing guitar!

Justin, I've watched many vids on reverb. This is one of the best in explaining the concepts and where they may be used. Well done.

Love this pedal novice friendly video! Looking forward to more video about delay, overdrive stacking, modulations and EQ adjusting.

Terrific lesson Justin!

I hope you can include a lesson in this series on compressors. Those are the pedals I struggle most to understand.

Cheers!

I really like when you talk about your experiences and preferences, be it guitar, music or lufe in general... Like why you don't use that particular pedal... Love from India

Very thoughtful and clarifying as it's easy to wanna fill the balloon and get altitude perhaps. Thanks Justin, good work.

I really appreciate this very thorough coverage, Justin, and I'm looking forward to your deep-dives into other effects coming in the future.

Really helpful, I've been playing about 18 months so this came along at about the right time for me, much appreciated!

G'day Justin! Just wanted to drop a comment explaining a little more about the pre-delay setting found on reverb pedals/plug-ins.

It's actually emulating the difference in time between a sound hitting the walls of a room, and the subsequent reflections reaching your ears. If you are in a large hall, the early reflections of the sound will take longer to reach your ears than if you were in a small room, thus creating the same "late bloom" effect that you would hear from the pre-delay setting.

In short, the pre-delay setting is great for enhancing the illusion of "size". If you are trying to increase the "size" of your instrumental space with reverb, I would recommend playing with the pre-delay setting before extending the time or the "tail" of the reverb, you will likely find it creates a much more realistic effect!

Hopefully this all makes sense, my expertise is in audio engineering - I'll leave the teaching to you, Justin! All the best mate.

Loved this! I've never been sure what I'm doing with my amp. I just twiddle knobs really but today with Justin I learnt loads and had so much fun messing with the reverb. I'm not making the most of my amp so I'm very much looking forward to more of these lessons. "Magical unicorn fairy dust" - love it! That is exactly what Justin sprinkles in my life. 😁🎇

I use a reverb pedal called One Control Prussian Blue Reverb, which is both nice in size and price, and in sound too of course. One Control is a Japanese brand that collaborates with the Swedish designer Björn Juhl from BJF Electronics. It’s worth a try if you want to fiddle around with even more pedals than you already have on your pedalboard. I think you will be amazed by the pedals they are making together. Great lesson by the way, as always!

Super lesson - I am a newbie and bought a Yamaha amp with different effects and it came with no instructions or description of what the effects did so this type of lesson is just great for me. How to recreate what you hear is really difficult on an electric guitar and off putting. Well done Justin and thanks.
