Fluoride is extremely poisonous. And the truth is, we don't really have good evidence one way or the other about long term negative affects, because so many people use fluoride, there's no way to parse out a control group. BTW, fluoride is in most tap water, too. The question should be, 'if you brush and floss your teeth regularly, and avoid sugar, is fluoride really necessary to have healthy teeth?
