I was striken by the stupidity of the writers, when the Dwarves re-opened the windows, let the sunlight in, and called it "free of the tyranny of the sun".

People on the ground are slaves to the sun's rhythm because when the sun's set they have to go to rest. Fair. But the dwarven devices don't seem to work when the windows are shut either.

Those lines only work if the Dwarves had lamps that shined no matter day or night, just like in the BOOKS. But I guess the writers don't read what Tolkien wrote, nor what they wrote.

So ROP is distributing rings to dwarves and men before Elves found out that Sauron has corrupted them? I'm starting to think that we won't get to see the War of Elves and Sauron.

Impressive how an episode without the Harfoots and barely any Galadriel is so much better!

Always shocked me that they chose to have Elrond be the dwarves expert and Celebrimbor the confused one in season 1.

Surely... They could have Celebrimbor be the long time dwarf friend, and Elrond is the confused newbie who needs to learn about their culture and report back to the King. So Elrond as a central protagonist is the audience avatar of season 1.

Surely if they just kept the story instead of inverting it, then things would make more sense?

Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks the elf Sauron compared to Galadriel was in fact Celebrien, Galadriel’s daughter.

what has happened this episode in numenor, should have been at least 3 episodes, if not more...and dislike how are the numerorians quickly corrupted and taking such drastic actions without even sauron being there!

Have you done any videos about the various sorts of Hobbits and how they relate to the other races? I remember reading about how Smeagol lived in a Hobbit adjacent society and thought it was very interesting. Thanks for your videos, I love learning more about this amazing world!

This was the best episode cause Galadriel was barely in it.

I think after the relationship of Elrond and Durin it would be weird to have another great friendship of elf and dwarf in the next season

Would you ever consider sharing a few of the things you enjoyed about an episode? You start off saying that you thought it was pretty good, then proceed to name every flaw in the episode. Yes, there are things to be nitpicked, and I'm here for it, and agree with a lot of it, but what about the good parts? For example, I grinned like a maniac at the mention of Tuor and Beren.

When you say it’s a pretty good episode do you mean pretty good for a tv show or pretty good for rings of power? What tv shows would you compare it to quality wise?

I agree this is the best episode thus far but will also say this is damning with faint praise.

The primary time waster in S1 AND S2 is the fricken Harfoots/Stoors (and NotGandalf). The entire race could have been erased. Losing the entire Harfoot/Stoor plots from both seasons would have freed up HOURS of story-telling time, lost absolutely nothing of value, and saved much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Even if they wanted NotGandalf in the series, they could have just had his meteor get it's ass direct to Rhun to do whatever story they are planning there (or even start with his pre-story there before his return by meteor).
Agreed also on the idiotic Southlands/Isuldur plot in both seasons. Stupid and pointless, and would have freed several more hours. Leave him doing (Pre?)-Princely stuff in Numenor until the downfall, or have him in Numenorean settlements in the West of M.E., maybe interfacing with the Elves of Eregion or Lindon. He is a part of "The Faithful" after all, .. they could have BUILT that bond for later seasons (yes, .. showed something instead of just telling, ... Shock Horror!)

I really liked this episode, and I agree with people that no harfoots is a plus. Unfortunately, their storyline is pretty boring and nonsensical.

just stop covering them so they dont get the attention.
