Teams are working on the recovery of the submersible that suffered what the Coast Guard called a "catastrophic implosion" while on an expedition to the wreck of the Titanic. All five on board were killed. CBS News correspondent Roxana Saberi has been following the search from Boston.

It‘s not unclear if the bodies can be recovered. There are no bodies to be recovered, the crew got obliterated by the immense pressure. The media really needs to stop perpetuating falsehoods in that regard

Stockton should’ve never let this happen. OceanGate has had issues for years and he knew the sub wasn’t safe. He even admitted to cutting corners. It’s really heartbreaking he took 4 lives with him because of his negligence. One of those lives was a 19 year old who didn’t get a chance at a life. Yes they all knew what they were getting themselves into because of the waivers but Stockton was aware of the issues with this sub.

Ocean Gate needs to be sued. 2 hours in the sub imploded? But Ocean Gate had no issues with this journey?
Sketchy.

How would they recover bodies that were crushed under that level of pressure? Do we not think things through before we report on them?

The company should be liable for the search and recovery costs! Why should taxpayers have to foot the bill for wealthy people's follies?! 🤬

For people wondering about remains of the bodies, there are none, in a catastrophic implosion, the body is vaporized from the instant depressurization.

These deaths were 1000% preventable. That is the saddest part to this story. Families will never get to properly bury the bodies because there is no more bodies unfortunately. If the pressure did that to the sub imagine what it did to flesh and bone 🤦🏾‍♂️ RIP

Um.. There's a reason they leave the bodies on Everest. If you can use unmanned subs to recover the bodies, sure, but i don't think living people should ever risk lives to recover bodies

Maker of the lost Titanic sub once told a reporter that 'at some point, safety is just pure waste'

“He would want to be remembered as somebody who continued the story of Titanic.” Mission accomplished.

If I understand correctly, it sounds like it broke apart shortly after going in...if that vessel had gone in multiple times before it probably couldn't withstand the pressure any longer, and with the owner not wanting to follow certification requirements, that vessel wasn't checked before going in. Humans need to stop being so adventurous and leave certain things to the robots. No amount of money if offered still wouldn't be worth the visit to some rusted out ship on the floor bottom of the ocean, I feel claustrophobic just thinking about it. My condolences to the family.

That titan sub probably didn't even cost $250, 000 dollars to make.

I read a couple of articles last night that both stated the 19 year old was " terrified" according to his aunt. She said he only went ahead with it as a Father's Day gift to his dad and to bond with him. She repeated how "Terrified" he was.

When asked how his friend (Paul-Henri) would like to be remembered, at 2:24 he said, "someone who continued the story of Titanic." He succeeded.

It's ridiculous to blame the Navy for hearing something that resembles an explosion and somehow it's their fault for dragging this ordeal out for days. Nothing was proven for a fact until yesterday. How about you getting lost in the ocean and for your rescue team to just quit because they had a hunch that you probably didn't make it? Good grief!

He's going to be remembered as the guy who fired a tec who refused to certify the sub because the windshield was not rated for that preasure.

A small town of people who didn't pay $250, 000 got decimated by a tornado leaving 4 people dead. Maybe send the recovery effort there since those people didn't have a choice to experience a tornado.

There’s a reason that ship is 12k feet deep. 1500 people died in one of the worst ways imaginable. An Insurmountable amount of suffering is attached to that ship. The dead laid in the abyss deserve their rest.

Too many 'experts.' The wreck of the Titanic is a grave, not a tourist attraction. Let it rest in peace.
