Khaled is such a pure soul. He built us a mosque in the Philippines. If you are reading this Dr. Al-Sharaf, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I worked as a teacher in Kuwait for two years
after the initial shock of heat and no colour I loved the small country. The people are ver generous, always willing to help you. Glad to see this country pop up on U Tube.

WOW! Mandy and Lee, this video has a lot of good information! Khaled is an awesome tour guide! The healthy breakfast look really good! I am impressed to learned that the government subsidize bread and the bread looks delicious! 😋 I like that you bring bags for the fresh bread. The waiter was fun and talented. The fresh camel milk sounds interesting, I wonder if it would go well with coffee. The Kuwait homes are interesting and have great community. Alshadeed park is beautiful. I didn’t know that Kuwait is cold in the winter, for some reason I thought Kuwait is hot all year. 😂 Please share the cost of the Delicious dinner (my mouth was watering just watching the food) 😊. Thank you!

With Lee's and Mandy's permission, westerners (and non-westerners) need to understand something important about diwaniya (guest room) at 8:20 is that these are places where men meet and socialise every day as Lee said in the video. There is a reason behind the idea of diwaniya (or Meylas in the UAE where I'm from) which I would like to explain to everyone. It is traditional for men, in Arab Gulf region, to follow a strict etiquette when meeting women (such as no use vulgar language, no talking or laughing loudly, no prolonged eye contact, no ranting, and other things). The only time men have a bit of freedom of those formalities is when they meet and socialise with other male friends. Liberalists in the West portray that tradition as a form of sexism, which is laughable!

The closest example of that men gathering culture in a country like, say, Australia (a place I lived in for almost two decades) is the local tavern. It is a place where Aussie men meet, drink and chat and rant after working hours before they hit the road home. The only difference is that Aussies don't have that strict etiquette when meeting women. Each culture interprets freedom differently.

One more thing, diwaniya culture is not strictly bedouin. All sorts of Arabs have it, be it coastal Arabs, oases Arabs, or high land Arabs.

Great work, Lee & Mandy!

the Arab world seems like a mysterious treasure waiting to be discovered
the Arab brother in the video is a person with a genuine Arab face. A famous Arab face in Arabic cartoons, cartoons, and movies added color to the video
Overall, it was a very interesting video
Love and respect from Azerbaijan to the Arab world and all nations

at 19:12 is the pictures of all the heroes who died for the freedom of Kuwait in the 1990 war. The park is named al shaheed park which means Martyr's Garden, It's made to honor them and remember them.
