quick fact: when there is no apparent scale and it's using all 12 semitones, it's called a chromatic scale

I like this man....interesting take on production which I think is useful..way too many trolls on here saying they don't like the melody.... when the video is about how to CONSTRUCT a melody...the melody which you make is personal preference

I don't particularly like that melody I'm afraid. Also, I think that it all comes down to circumstance. If you first idea for a new track IS the melody, then I'd get the melody laid down first, then the chords to support the melody. I think it also comes down to texture. A lot of the time I find myself writing the melody as part of the chords rather than having a melody over static chords like in your example. In that scenario, I would probably double the main tune using a different lead after writing the whole lot, to emphasise it in the mix, but in this instance, I'd 100% do it this way :) (sorry if that came across as a bit negative, I was just trying to give some constructive feedback)

Man.... You got some dope ass sounds! Where did you get these sounds from? Like those synths and stuff (Main Melody) that sounds like some Tyler, The Creator shit. Is it like a plugin you use or what? PLEASE reply lol Thanks!

Why does everyone freak out when they hear a melody that's a little dissonant? It's variety and not like all that generic edm out there right now.

Im sat my daughter down in front of ableton for the first time at age 5 and showed her only the most simple basics of how to put something together and play midi/keyboard then I left the room for 20 min came back to see if she needed help and her beat that day was still better than this lol
