I also think your series on melodic shapes is really on point, most importantly the emotional meaning melody shapes give lyrics. this is helping me understand how i can express myself through music in a palatable way. combining shapes with rhythmic motifs is really the key, as simple as it sounds or seems.

0:08 kinda random but isn't that mic placement bad. It would make 1 drum hit have way more tone and clarity then the other one. The 2nd drum would be noticeably quite and less clear. Idk maybe they know somthing I don't and idk why I'm paying attention to that.
