He’s 100% right. It won’t promote the French language, it’ll just hurt other speaking languages

My company stopped selling in Quebec years ago. In short, the cost of translation, re-boxing/printing, and software development outweighed the Quebec market.

Wow talk about discrimination, this is absolutely ridiculous!

I left Quebec after 12 years of living there as a french speaking canadien. The identity politics, both in language and religious aspects felt heavy, and we're glad to be outside of that now. The CAQ is toxic

He says “ The government needs to make Canada a truly bilingual country “ when 1 province is trying their best to make Quebec a unilingual province.

I was raised in french, I went to french schools but my family is bilingual. We even speak "frenglish" between us. I do not approve of law 96. It limits us to our own province.

I absolutely agree with him. The fact that Quebec, constitutionally, can discriminate against English speakers while also forcing the rest of the nation to bow to a lot of its whims is infuriating. And will cost the CAQ dream of maintaining the French language.

I don't know how you can deny English speaking Canadians their language in CANADA.

If the Quebec government is really interested in protecting the french language they should stop all of the french radio stations to stop playing English music

Once the economy takes a nosedive and talent start to mass emigrate out of Quebec, people will finally wake up and vote Legault out!

Quebecers: “Canada must be bilingual!”
Also Quebecers: “No more English in Quebec!”

Stop equalization payments. Other provinces should not be shelling out money for Quebec’s incompetence

Other provinces should make it English only then! Why would Ontario put effort to be a bilingual province but not Quebec? I think Canada should not have any official language, like the USA let the people do wtv they want and of course English will win but that's because it's a way more useful language. Bye bye French!

I'm a 43 years old Québécois with french as my mother's language. Still I'm bilingual and cannot for the love of whatever you believe in understand the point of this completely ridicule law!! As was said by Mr. Guzzo and down there in comments, if you want more people to speak french, you have to promote it. But let's be totally franc here, french not too difficult to learn to speak, moderately difficult to read but HELLISH to write. It is a language of intellectual masturbators and it shows in all the useless rules and even more useless exceptions. I mean we give gender to objects with is again completely useless and extremely difficult for others to understand. What give our so called leaders (which are more like bosses than leaders) the right to decide what language people should speak in their HOMES. This is utter lunacy.

Language is as close to culture as it gets and you can't force culture onto a society with any real success if that society is meant to be free.
