You see the old man always enjoys playing the games while the others are scared for their lives. In the first game, a person right beside him got shot but he was still smiling. Showcasing that the games bring him joy.

**Obvious Spoilers**
Another detail i read about somewhere, (i can't claim credit for) was that every main character's death was foreshadowed in their life before the game. I'm terrible with names so excuse my awful nicknames for the characters.The thug guy died in the glass bridge game and in his normal life he jumped off a bridge to get away from those casino guys. The pick-pocket woman died by a stab to the neck, in her real life she held her knife to that one guy's neck. Ali died after someone with-holding the marbles from him that were rightfully his. In his real life, his boss denied him the wages he had rightfully earned. The childhood friend died by killing himself in the end, in his real life he contemplated killing himself in the bath tub.

Also this is kind of obvious, when everyone had to choose a partner for the game, old man anticipated that he will be left behind that's why he made the rules such way and that lady was saved instead of being executed.

When the main character chose umbrella, he said he always wanted and new one that wasn’t broke like the other kids…how ironic that he finally got the perfect umbrella in the most important time while the others broke theirs

I happened to pause the film at the first game precisely when the doll is scanning him and noticed he does not have a green "aura" glowing like the others, and the girl next to him somehow moved her arm but not getting spotted by the doll which his safe spot blinded the doll and accidentally saved the girl.

If you notice when joon-ho went in his brother’s room and picked up the invitation card, it was packaged unlike how all the other players received their card. This hints to him being the frontman as the package is gifted almost as a “welcome back” offer.

Actually when i was watching the first game, i already found something suspicious which is when the old man play the first game comfortably. He moves so comfortably as if he played it before. But then i thought “that must be bcs he might have played a lot since he was younger”

When I noticed the old man was not in the frame when he ‘died’ I thought to myself ‘oh that makes sense they wouldn’t make the old man fall down for the shot’ 😂

3:45 This scene seemed weird to me. But, the director's skill to smoothly divert our attention without any room for suspicion, while having given all these hints is beyond words.

I found it interesting that there was one game where the old man's life was genuinely in danger and that was the Tug of War game. Although the old man's strategy initially helped give his team the advantage, they soon lost the momentum and would've been pulled over the edge to their deaths until the quick thinking of Sang-woo saved them from defeat.

On the other hand, I guess it's possible that if the old man's team had been pulled off the platform and was dangling on the rope, the guillotine rope-cutting device might not have activated and the game runners could have claimed that it had malfunctioned and that they would have to execute the losing team later via gunshot to the head, thereby secretly letting the old man escape with his life.

Another one if yous didn't pick up. Is that the games are actually drawn on the walls in the room they sleep in. You can't see them in the first couple episodes, but as soon as there's less beds in the room you can see the games drawn on the walls before the games even happened

remember when he was sitting outside the store while it was raining, then the old man appeared walking outside the store and then he sat with him and had a drink and meal and kind of convinced him to re join... that was weird

So basically the present the main character won for his daughter with the gun lighter in it the box for it is the same design as the coffins the bodies were carried away in

Another detail to note is that he "died" just before the game with most death probability and the one where he would not be saved because the stepping glass had no way of saving the old man and he didn't remember which glass was protected and which wasn't because of the brain tumor, big ass coincidence too is that, when everyone was voting, he was the last deciding vote, giving a clue that he's the one that 'controls' the game around from the inside

I always thought that when Il-Nam was screaming for help the Front Man was just sympathetic towards him not that he’s the orchestrator of the Squid Games. After seeing the season finale, I definitely see why the soldiers and Front Man watch and are ordered not to shoot him. I also didn’t notice much details about Il-Nam because I was starting to grow attached to him just like Gi-Hun (before everything was revealed). So when Il-Nam “died” I was too busy bawling my eyes out to notice the detail of the no blood.

To expand a little more on detail 1. The old man being the last to vote means he won't need to vote most of the time since a majority can be determined even earlier if it isn't a complete 1/2 split of votes. He would only ever need to vote if it was a final detrimental ballot needed to be cast.
