f stop numbers are written as a fraction - f over 5.6, where f equals the focal length. So with a 50mm lens at 2.8 it's 50/2.8 the aperture size is 17.86mm. f/10 would be 50/10 = 5mm. This is why a larger f stop means less light.

It’s a nice video. I have a question for you. If the aperture is wide open the focus will be limited to a certain area of the subject and ( for example as you mentioned that only the eyes are sharp and ears and other parts are slightly blurred. In these situations how do you handle ? It happened to me with 70-200 mm f2.8 lens. one eye was tack sharp and other other eye was slightly blurred. Please explain how can this situation is handled.
