========== HISTORIC FACT ==========

On December 24, 1914, an unofficial Christmas Truce was enforced on the Western Front. An act of trust and harmony, British and German soldiers mingled and played games together in the midst of one of the most atrocious events of the 20th century – World War I.

When Christmas truce first came out. My father, who is over 70 and not into metal at all. called me and insisted that I listen to this incredible song he had found. Now he is a huge fan and we have something more in common to bond over.

Best. Christmas. Song. Ever. The sheer amount of emotion and depth of meaning this song has is phenomenal. Not just for the miraculous events of the song but for the greater meaning of Christmas itself.

For me, this is the best music video so far. Partially because it tries to convey the same feelings the soldiers back then probably had but also because the production quality is very high

Must've been an incredible feeling to not hear a single shot or artillery but pure joy, laughter and company for an entire night

This song was what gave me permission to play metal at work. A long battle between me and management.
"No metal!"
"It's Christmas music!!! And...you will learn something."
By the end of the week, I had patients requesting it, and coworkers singing the chorus with me. We all finally became friends.

Adding Floor's voice to this was genius to a video that was already masterfully done. 😭

I grew up in the 80’s watching MTV. In my humble opinion this is the greatest music video of all time. The song, lyrics, the original story, cinematography, even the ending credits was all so beautifully done. A true masterpiece.

From the first times I heard this song to the repeated times I've watched the video... it pulls emotions out of me I thought I'd put down to rest. It's actually helped me process and make peace with experiences I've had on my assorted deployments to the middle east. Thank you Sabaton for your courage to tell the tales of those long gone.
