You know your are right that WarioWare would lend itself to a battle royale game format really well (100 people get a clip of micro games and its a game of attrition to survive them as the micro game set gets faster & faster). At least I assume that is what you mean by "mass participation multiplayer game".

I'm really surprised that you do not have a lot more followers at this point already. Unparalleled work. A+

The next 2D Mario kicking off a “Switch 2 Lite” is such a brilliant shout! Could be a fun parallel if 3D Mario ends up as the launch title for base Switch 2.

Wanted to give my perspective as someone who is reasonably deep into the splatoon fandom! I can affirm that it’s extremely unlikely we get a fourth title in 2025. As you probably know, the theme, story, and visuals of each new game are decided by the winner of the previous game’s final splatfest. In the case of splatoon 3, that final fest was less than a month ago. While I don’t doubt that the dev team for the series has a foundation for the next game (new mechanics, weapons, etc) and an outline for how each potential final fest winner would influence it, I think there is simply too little time between now and the Switch 2’s release for the game to be in a polished state. There’s potential for a spin-off though, in my opinion. Hope this was interesting and/or helpful!

This channel is such a much higher bar than almost all other Ninten'Tubers, it's not even funny!
You've grown immensely since I found this channel, but I bet you'll be soaring in increasing success, by the day.

Please keep the content the way it is though, if that happens; it is unrivaled!

One game I was really surprised to not even see mentioned was a Mario Maker 3. The original was the 30th anniversary game, so a new one could fill in that same slot for a 40th anniversary game. We have a new style they could add with Mario Wonder, too. I’m not sure if the team that makes Mario Maker is the same one as the 2D Mario team, but it feels like it would at least be worth mentioning. Loved the video, though!

Just commenting to say, these videos are always of high quality, I watch most of them, it’s just a matter of time before the channel will grow or if lucky, blow up. Keep up the great work.

The main issues I have with Splatoon 4 being so soon after Splatoon 3 are two things...

1. Splatoon 3 was very clearly rushed from a conceptual standpoint, even with its multiple delays. Doing so again for Splatoon 4, especially when you have to factor in Team Past's victory in the FinalFest, may not end well.
2. Given the drop-off in overseas sales for Splatoon 2 to 3 (partially due to the usual sequel drop-off, but still), Nintendo may risk overseas franchise fatigue if they release another Splatoon game so soon after wrapping up the third. And as you alluded to, a quick turnaround could lead to an iterative sequel that's pretty barebones off the bat, which wouldn't help how Splatoon is viewed overseas.

To be frank, I still think they should've supported New Horizons for longer & save Splatoon 3 for the Switch 2. But as things stand now, I do see Animal Crossing as being a major system-seller post-ACNH & could bring in a large community from the start. Maybe not Day 1, but definitely later within the first year of the system's life. And yeah, I do think that it'd be best for Splatoon to become a once-per-system franchise with a longer support tail.

On the Smash front, it's honestly more likely for Sakurai to build something new than to further built atop Smash Ultimate. He even explicitly on his YouTube channel that he wants each Smash game he works on to be distinct, so I don't see a Sakurai-led Switch 2 Smash entry to just be an enhanced version of Ultimate. Especially since you'd have to renegotiate with every third-party company to get those characters back anyway, so you can't roll over the same arrangements for a port since it'd be legally seen as a new game. Likewise, only some models were remade. Whereas most of the animations can be traced as far back as Brawl or even Melee in some cases.. Smash Ultimate still used Smash Wii U as a base more than past games used the games before them as a base. Smash as a series hasn't fully started from scratch since 64 -> Melee.

Ganon's Fury! That struck me as funnier than it probably should have 😂

What will most likely be there: 3d Mario, another Zelda spin-off, and a tech demo game.

My hopuim of what will be there: Star Fox.

i wonder if legends za might be a breath of the wild type scenario being on switch and switch 2 due to how it is at the tailend of the switch’s life

Regarding a new mainline Kirby title, while the route you proposed of a bigger title with a 5 year dev cycle could be very possible, I believe a 3 year dev cycle for a sequel in the same vein as Forgotten Land should not be ignored. After all, it was only a bit over 2 years between Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot. And I personally believe that the main reason Forgotten Land took 4 was due to them figuring out how to make mainline Kirby work in 3D. I think there's a solid 50% chance of a cross-gen mainline Kirby following Forgotten Land's template to release within the first year of the switch's successor, and 90% for within the first 2 years.

So mad we didn't get more Odyssey stuff. Very sad. That game is just so fun to move around in. I'd be floored if the next 3D Mario's movement is that good

On the topic of Splatoon I really don´t think the developers would want to be rushed to pump out the next entry again so quickly.
Splatoon 1 to 2 turnaround really was an act of absolute desperation to have as many high profile games in 2017 as possible which left very little room for innovation besides Salmon Run. We also should remember that following the Switch reveal trailer in October the community discussed for 3 months if it was a new entry or a port. Nintendo likely does not want that to happen again now that Splatoon has had 2 entries on a system people actually played and truly went mainstream on. The Final Fest theme may also be another indicator. Famously the results of these shape the following game. Knowing their deadline Splatoon 1 just asked who the best idol was which ultimately just decided which Squid Sister would be hypnotized in the story mode. Splatoon 2´s Chaos vs Order on the other hand truly shaped the entire visual identity of the game in the chaotic desert Splatlands where multiple cultures clash and mix. And Splatoon 3´s Past vs Present vs Future is likewise a very broad theme which we can assume to shape the aesthetics of Splatoon 4. And I just cannot see that being polished up with 4K visuals in a mere 2 years after updates stop for 3. But beyond the analytical view, storywise it just does not feel right. Splatoon 3 in its Direct was described as the finale of the splatastic saga, all 3 hubs became available, the motivation of the main story´s villain was to return the world to its past state while Side Order´s wanted to freeze the world in a moment and have the present persist forever and all 7 idols came together for the biggest Splatfest in history. 3 is very explicitly meant to be the end of Splatoon´s first era. It has a very definitive feeling of finality to it compared to 1 and 2. And as such it would be plain weird if they did all of this knowing they´d be forced to come out with yet another iterative sequel not even 2 years later like business as usual.
I don´t expect a complete overhaul but something that truly feels new. That and I believe that Nintendo is not as pressured to push Splatoon early as Switch 2 will almost certainly have a new Mario Kart calendar year 1 to push online whereas in 2017 it was hard to say how many core Nintendo fans who would buy Switch early were gonna double dip with MK8DX when statistically they likely had the Wii-U original.
Anyway these were just some feelings I felt were good to add and I absolutely love the work you do!

I really hope the next Animal Crossing doesn't repeat the stupid one island per console limitation. In a game with few flaws, that's one of the biggest complaints (that and poor multiplayer).
