I wouldn't even mind if they resold them as "Red Collection" (Red, Gold, Ruby, Pearl, White, White 2, X, Sun, and Ultra Sun) and "Blue Collection" (Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Diamond, Black, Black 2, Y, Moon, and Ultra Moon)

With Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum available as an additional DLC bundle for either game.

Summary: “Classics are coming to Switch because…. I want them to.” There isn’t a shred of evidence to suggest that it’s actually happening. As a long time fan (and current 3DS owner with all the Pokémon games you can play on this system) I also hope that it happens but I won’t hold my breath

They’d likely wait until the 30th anniversary to announce any classic Pokemon games, similar to what they did in 2016. That way players buy the games early in the year prior to the Gen 10 games as a big celebration.

You are assuming that the Pokemon Company and Nintendo are going to make decisions out of common sense and what the fans want. But I heavily argue that common sense is not common at all anymore, and modern corporations consistently try to avoid doing anything that the fans want on purpose.

There is 100% no chance they implement randomizer functions or nuzlocke options, etc. If they ever re-release the games they will be left exactly as is. They will sell either way, and additionally, there was those talks a number of years back how much GF consider even nuzlocking as "basically as bad as hacking." They're very particular on the games being played a certain way, it seems.

I did transfer pokemon from gen 1 to gen 6 on the 3DS to fill out the pokedex more. However, I don't like how it costs $16.00/year to transfer pokemon from bank to home from 3DS. They should just include this with the cost of switch online membership instead of charging more on top of an NSO membership.

If they made a game with all the games, I would buy it the second it came out. My first Pokemon game was Sword, so I've never been able to experience any Pokemon game before sword. It would give people like me who's recently come to the fandom a way to play those games without having to spend our entire savings to buy multiple different games, and consoles.

There is no argument, no structure, no rationale or any actual reasons (apart from «the market is ready», «rom hacks are popular») for why Game Freak would release old games presented in this video. I truly honestly wish for re-releases of the older games, but I think Game Freak for some reason have decided not to release older games digitally. I would very much like to be proven wrong, but when pokemon day 2025 rolls around and there are no re-release announcements I’ll return here and say I told you so

My theory is with Gen 10 coming up, they’re waiting for a HUGE sales window. Esp since we’re not getting any titles this year (2024)

I’ve still got my cartridges and have been carrying forward my collection since 2003. It’s fun to revisit the old games, but they definitely show their age. I miss the level of challenge in the old games, but the QoL improvements over the years are hard to play without now.
