In today’s episode of Retro Renew, I show you the latest progress on a mod I’ve been working on for some time now. My friends Kyle and Helder have combined forces to help make the last mod your Game Boy Advance will ever need! It has been dubbed The Thicc Boi SP, an incredible modification that incorporates everything you could ever want in your Game Boy Advance Console! In this video I give you a sneak peak at what this kit will eventually look like as well as all the functionality it adds. So, is the Thicc Boi a mod you should do for your SP? Let’s find out!

Important! Please read! There are a number of peripherals that utilize the side holes for grip on the gba sp and original gba. Please consider revising the bottom shell to include those hole grooves for the peripherals. Things like the gba wireless connector or other japanese add ons won't work if you don't modify the case you made for the injection molding. Just an FYI.

I personally don't have a use for all of the other features in the thicc boy, but just having an SP with a wireless rechargeable battery and headphone jack is already a game changer

Super excited that you are going to make this a mod kit that will be available for purchase. it would be awesome if the final bottom shell piece could incorporate the two little notches of the original SP to allow for wireless link adaptor and Gamecube link cable functionality to be maintained. As a quick note, it’s TRRS, not TRSS. Tip Ring Ring Sleeve. There can only be one tip and one sleeve; it’s the number of rings that’s variable (from 0 to 2, typically). Not sure of that was just a misspeak a misunderstanding.

I work a lot and I always have my handhelds with me, and to have a battery that'll last damn near 24 hours (I use my IPS screen on default to two notches darker) would be a life saver!
