Only 30 percent of depressed teens are being treated. Symptoms of teenage depression can include, but not limited to: prolonged low mood or sadness, being easily irritable, feelings of helplessness, increased social isolation, loss of interest for things previously enjoyed. The signs of depression can resemble that of clinical depression.

If you identify with the symptoms in the video, we recommend talking to your school counsellors or free resources.

Telling your parents about this always ends up with either "It's the damn phone", "You're overreacting" or "Stop being depressed"

It actually hurts when you try hiding your tears only because you don't wanna hurt them, but they taunt you, judge you, and call you overdramatic.

Depression is more deeper than this. Almost 90% of people may feel all of this symptoms from time to time but it doesn't mean you have depression. Just imagine.... you're having the great time of your life then suddenly, a dark cloud of emotions approach you. Storming out the fun moment you were having. It's continuous. Always happens with no apparent reason and uncertainty. It may leave you for a moment, hoping that it will be gone forever but it never disappears. Only then you realize, you've been like this for months. Your overall productivity have dropped, unmotivated, even with the simplest things like taking a bath or eating. Then you start thinking about killing yourself. Waiting for a little force to trigger death into reality.

Imagine studying for 9hours and nobody sees that but when you take a short break your mom starts scolding you for that.

The amount of people who suffer from this is sad, and it's worse to know that many people who have depression is from things like twitter, so helping these people out by showing them that they might suffer from this is something we all thank you for.

My family hurts me everyday without even realising. They thinks they are the only one who worries about their life, I have nothing to think about. I become depressed much often. 😕😑

Okay but the "if you are self isolating, talk to someone" part had me laughing.

I know this is really cliche but, it gets better. It’s okay to reach out, if your people care, they know it’s not just for attention. You got this <33

Reading some of these comments has made me realize that I have parents that are much more supportive and accepting than many others. I hope all of you who are less fortunate can find friends who will support you when your family may not.

Psilocybin saved my life. I was addicted to heroin for 15 years and after Psilocybin treatment I will be 3 years clean in September. I have zero cravings.
This is something that truly needs to be more broadly used in addiction treatment.

Sadness is comforting though. Being alone in a dark room in bed, completely covered by the sheets. Knowing that you don’t have to move or do anything is just peaceful. I wish I could go make friends and have fun but I prefer being sad.

I guess I've been in a teen depression state few months ago without even realising.
I'd just say depression isn't a stuff to flex, so stay healthy, happy and love yourself! It's the key

I have a quote.
It was made by me, and I will keep it that way.
"There are twists and turns, Bumps and noises that you can't help but stay there and try to ignore. But there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel."

The thing is I become “depressed” for a while then within 5 minutes return to happy mode… but then less than 5 minutes later I’m depressed again.
