How to get to Alpha Centauri

preview_player
Показать описание

Today we'll be looking at the ONLY realistic ways to get to Alpha Centauri. By our current technological capabilities, a spaceship accelerated to 80km/s would have to travel for roughly 18000 years to get to Alpha Centauri. For reference, in this timeframe, humans progressed from creating the first organized settlements to our modern-day society. So conventional fuel isn’t an option.

Music:
- Gustav Holst - Mars;
- Pablo de Sarasate - Danza Española No.2 - Habanera

Great thanks to our Patrons: Tovi Sonnenberg, Niki Wonoto, Jonas Lee, Joshua Titus, Brian Shaner, Parker Rosenbauer, Pavel Kočarian, Ishin Hazue, John N, Danh Le, Brandon Ledyard, Ephellon and everyone else!

Thanks to our sponsor for making the video possible! How has everyone been doing this past month?
Edit: The "Hello mortals" in the beginning of this video has been skipped for some experimentation with the YouTube algorithm, we'll see how YouTube likes it

Tell USA that there is oil near Alpha Centauri, I'm sure they will innovate warp drive within a few weeks.

Why should I go to Alpha Centauri, when Alpha Centauri can come to me!
Who's the Alpha now?
They should call it Beta Centauri.

For some reason when I start thinking about things like this I get a sense of urgency like it's my reality and something needs to be done now.

The transition was smooth but the ad was hella long XD

I love how all of this is incredibly hard to do but the most likely option is apparently the *actual freaking warp drive.*

When sciencephile is so smooth you don't even realize you're watching an ad

Your scientific knowledge is as astounding as your ability to segue a sponsor into the lesson.

Remarkable.

"Humans are humans. They've proven countless times that limits are just something to be broken, be it either stupidity or brilliance."
