Incra Miter Sled review

*I purchased this with my own money. Incra did NOT send it to me.*

I had the Incra Miter 1000 Gauge and decided to get the Miter Express table saw sled. It's small, compact, and works well. It's perfect for a small shop. Anything Incra makes is of the highest quality, and this is no exception. The two work perfectly together and this is a purchase I made for the shop I am very happy with.

I have the 5000 and love it. I actually picked it up before I even got my table saw. Everything Incra makes is amazing!

I have a dewalt table saw. After watching several videos, it seems some people run the miter bar on the left and others on the right. I am guessing then that my job site saw will work fine. My concern was/is the table's width versus a cabinet saw.

I love mine and the sled. I also use the TS/LS fence system

I love my miter gauge too. I love setting up the stop block and repeating cuts

I have had one for several years and love it.

Great time lapse of configuring. Easy to follow! Even answered my question about bevel cuts at the end. Thanks for putting this together👍

What is the point of the left side of the sled?
It's not connected to anything.
A main reason for using a sled is that it rides in both slots for stability.
Am I missing something here?

I don't like that type of miter track because it can't ever be pulled forward so far that it partially comes out of the miter slot. If it does, the little plastic wheels that touch the sides don't touch and it isn't accurate any more until the miter is all the way back in so all the plastic wheels are in contact. It's probably fine on the large cabinet saws but I got rid of mine and switched to a contractors saw with a smaller top surface.

Thanks for the review, Ben. You'll want to close up the gap between the drop panel and blade by moving the miter bar over one set of holes and making the second cut described in the manual.

The zero clearance will give you a cleaner finish on the offcuts, but it also keeps narrow offcuts from getting pulled down into the gap… that might be okay if the saw has an open throat plate that lets narrow pieces get pulled through, but if the saw has a zero clearance insert, there's potential for narrow offcuts to get jammed between the blade and panel and kicked back toward the operator.

Good video. I have the sawstop job site saw, do you think the incra express would work on it? I already have the incra hd 1000 like you. Thank you

Thanks very much for this excellent video. You did a great job showing the assembly. I am curious about the use of the sled with a dado stack. I anticipated you using the piece you cut off with the dado blades. Have you tried it yet? Are there any problems after you use it with a dado stack, then returning to standard kerf cuts?

You can buy the Incra 3000SE and add the sled later?

If you own a sawstop be careful with this and the incra miter gauge as the blade deflection can trigger the brake. I don't own the sled but do the miter gauge and simply moved the fence over a 1/2" and just need to remember about that half inch when using the measurement.

Not worth the expense, just got the miter itself and the add-on doesn’t bring much to it at all!
Thanks for the update

Look like it would be extremely accurate.
Since it's a miter sled, what about making miter cuts??
Angled cuts???

I would have enjoyed hearing you describe the assembly instead of listening to the music that was playing.

Im not used to seeing a crosscut sled thats divided into two parts. Notnsire about that. How would you ise that? Why is it separate?

Why do you need this when you can just use the miter gauge?
