Very interesting video. I’ve just bought a 1000HD mitre guage (which comes with the advanced Incra no-deflection stop) and the miter express. The manual says that the sacrificial fence should not be more than 2.5” (from memory) high - so that you can continue to use the rule on the main fence and the Incra stop block. That’s obviously a bonus.

Where your sacrificial fence scores is it offers a higher support to the cut piece - but at the cost of not being able to use the rule or the Incra block.

I’ve also got KM stop which is currently on my shop made mitre sled. So, I am thinking of 2 sacrificial fences - 1 will be that 2.5” high and the other higher and thicker to fit the top aluminium T track.

I’ve really gone from my shop made sled (very accurate but very heavy and only good for the blade at 90) to the Incra because, after 45 plus years of woodworking, my body shouts for help when there is anything heavy. Don’t laugh, you will get the same some day.

I’ve also got the full calorie Incra router table. Very nice except that set screws holding the fence in place have a great tendency to unloosen and so affect the of where you want each part of the fence to be against the other. Does anyone else have a small box of screws and bolts which suddenly appear on the workshop floor and you have no idea which machine they came from. It’s my “ where the flip does that comes from” box.

Brett, thank you so much for making this. It is perfect timing as I am making a tea box and was wanting to use the Incra Miter Express to make the beveled end cuts. Also appreciate your laid back helpful approach.

Hi Brett, I just posted this on your original video as well. You assembled the Miter Express boards on the large plate incorrectly. Look closer at the directions. You are off by one hole on the utility plate. The boards to the left and right should be moved back toward you by one hole. You are shorting yourself on blade to miter fence distance. I do appreciate the videos.

Is there anything stopping you from making your first cut at 45 degrees through the cut off table piece so you have zero clearance and support for the off-cut?
