Magic the Gathering will always have a place in my heart, but I also love exploring new TCGs. I started playing games in college after years of failing at sports and have been addicted ever since.

Pokemon started the craze and addiction - moving me away from baseball cards and into the world of constant organization.

I have those days too where I don't engage online, but you got to spend time with your family which is always time well spent. I appreciate the videos and your voice in the community.

Once upon a time, folks were paying top dollar for tulip bulbs, until they weren't...

To me those boxes of 30th A are worth less than nothing. Anyone who has one in their collection loses mad respect.

Taking a break is better than burning out. Take care of yourself. All the best.

It's going to be stable or even go up until one point where it tanks with people left holding the bag. It wont take much for that to happen. I haven't heard of a single player that want these cards.

I'm a year late and I don't know if you read these comments but it's worth a shot- I am all about this set. I used to play Legacy, and now I only play with friends at the kitchen table myself. I see this set like the Delorean of card games, a horrible deal in its day but a moment in time and a story will soften how we see it someday X years from now. Also I play exclusively Underground Sea decks, and having that hatred in my pile of 75 gives me life when I play. I am happy to pay $500 for a retro Usea today when it was shown in a calculator averaging like $1100 per dual (retro or not) and will certainly surpass its original price someday. Strictly my opinion of course.

I could care less about Magic 30th. I do not care if it goes up thousands of dollars or it tanks. Wizards can keep the presses rolling on this ridiculous product. There could be pallets of this stuff. It's hard enough trying to keep up with the hundreds of products that comes out while Wizards keeps raising the price of their new products. WIZARDS CAN MANIPULATE THIS MARKET!!! The whales need to wake up. This is just a card game. Thanks for the video Louie.

There's always been a class structure in MTG, it's just becoming more embraced and exploited by WOTC now and they're not hiding it anymore.

A small group with a lot of money has set a floor. Demand? Organic demand hasn't changed much as the group size for the mtg30 is still around 1, 100 months later. They are hoping videos like urs get shared and make it "safe" to buy.

Heyo, don't forget to be kind to yourself. You rock.

The only people buying 30th are speculators and the number of pack opening videos remains very low. I don't know who is going to want these in the future...

As long as Dan from vintage magic keeps buying them they will stay high I just don't think he will find buyers.

You weren't wrong! Sell Sell Sell into the hype. The market will crash later.

1) "There is a market for everything in Magic:The Gathering" - tell that to my poor Vanguard cards. 2) Wizards only cares if the market wants to pay for it. Even if the value of Magic 30 holds, it is not success to Wizards if they did not meet earnings expectations on it. 3) Only years will tell what the final market value holds. Everyone is squirreling away their boxes now, so these will continue to maintain their value until a bunch of Magic 30 actually hit the market. Being at the original $1000 you paid or even going up $100-$200 at the moment does not mean that it was worth the original $1000. The question isn't whether it will stay at $1000, but will it actually move that much over the long haul. 4) The more we talk about it, the more we keep the interest and value in this set up. Free publicity. Time for us to move on to a much happier place. 5) Scrolling is the worst - been there, done that. I highly recommend getting a babysitter and go for a walk with your wife on a nice day. So worth it. You are still always awesome to listen to - keep it up!

The product has a floor, and the "finance bros" are doing what they can to maintain it.

30A was selling for more than $800-$1200 before the stores got their allotments.

The argument was never about it not having value or being investible...it was about finding something else to deploy your cash into instead.

This product is not a success...it was "destroyed in a landfill" if you believe things, and that has people motivated to buy the product because the current thinking is that the allocated store boxes are all that remains of the print run, which by default makes the surviving boxes more valuable than they should be.

it makes no sense for someone to drive around picking up these boxes, unless he wants his grandchildren to keep the offers up on ebay

Im sure there is alot more boxes that didnt sell in a warehouse with all the promoting it and how silent after the the sale got pulled

LGS’ getting them didn’t tank the price. Instead it gave LGS a cost free sale. 1200-1400 is all profit for the store.

There is no there there with this product. Whales are trying to get position to flip in long run. It’s quite the speculation, but will require other manipulation of the game and market. Just like the reserve list, those with deep pockets will make their voices heard and WOTC will capitulate. This is a game within a game that most casual players are not involved in.

I dunno I've given up trying to understand the magic community. Lord of the Rings CE boxes are still priced higher than MH2 CE boxes and the only things they have are the 1/1 One Ring and a box topper of The Great Henge. The rest of it is looking like a pure turd of a set, but that's apparently enough for Amazon to briefly sell-out. WotC will absolutely make their earnings estimates because of whatever is happening here. In ten years, that controversial CE set will probably be the most expensive thing in the world. I feel like, as a Magic player, I'm now part of some weird cult that I don't understand.
