I always knew it was pronounced Disney but it took me so long to realize that the weird symbol was actually a D

Everyone keeps talk about how they used to read it as a kid, but I never even tried. I just knew it was a Disney movie, and paid little attention to what the logo actually said.

For a few years i actually thought it was walt disnep. That "y" is so misleading.

I'm Greek. As a kid, I'd call it Disnef, since the "y" there looks like the greek letter "φ".
I never actually said it to anyone though, I had my doubts

My favorite character in Backwards Gisney Land is *Upsidedown Wicky Wouse*

For an unexceptional amount of time I had thought that the last letter was "p" rather than "y", and it oddly made amazing sense and seemed authentic to me the brand "Disnep" existed as a high quality animation company.

The D in Disney always confused the shit out of me as a kid with that extra unnecessary loop..

I wonder what the ride situation is like at Jizzney?

I've literally always seen it as Gisney. I read "Disney", because I know that's what it is but I never actually see it as a fancy D, just looks like a backwards G to me

that took me TEN YEARS to understand. i was like "WHY IS THE LOGO BACKWARDS GISNEY IF ITS DISNEY" then it clicked

I read them as Walt Gisnep. Because the "y" looks like "p".

I've been called it as Walt Gisnep for 20 years until my friend pointed out that the backward " G" is a "D" and "P" is a "Y".

To the joy of all humanity, Brazil exists:
In some accents, Brazilian Portuguese actually had a "G" sound for the letter "D".
So Gisney is EXACTLY on point.

For years as a kid I thought it was Disnep. I was also thinking that it was due to copyright

It looks more like letter "Đ" which, funnily enough, is pronounced the way you said it: Gisney. :D

Even after having long since finally seen the D in the logo, it still just instinctively looks like a backwards G every time I look back at it.
