Speed is a huge factor in mileage. Drop your cruising speed from 75 to 65 and you’ll get a big boost in mileage. 75 with a trailer is a disaster waiting to happen in a panic stop anyways.

Towing with F150 3.5L ecoboost around 11.5mpg. But I'm impressed with your Jeep's Patagonias. No steering shake and no issues towing on wet road at 75mph. Impressive for a mud tire. Enjoy your trip and thanks for another great video.

Reasons why my Jeep get bad MPG-
1: Aerodynamics
2: I like the sound my Jeep makes when I put the pedal to the floor.

I have worked for Safelite Auto Glass for 14 years. I can’t tell you the number of Jeep windshields I have replaced over the years. Let’s just be nice and say over a 1, 000. The main reason why is because of the degree the glass is sitting. Smart choice in choosing the aftermarket which will definitely save u money. There is no difference between the OEM and aftermarket except the logos. All windshields have to meet DOT specs for safety. Jeep now also offers a gorilla glass which they claim is stronger, but again save your money as they also break just as often.

Windshield breakage: Tax day - April 15th... Gas mileage story: I owned a 1977 Jeep J10 with a AMC 360 engine and Turbo 400 automatic transmission. I got 11 MPG no matter what - in town, highway, empty bed, bed loaded with wood hauling a 26' flatbed trailer loaded with cords of wood through the mountain of Colorado. Loved driving I-70 from Denver to Beaver Creek - took half a tank of gas either way. Gas mileage sucked but the 4-wheeling was great. I never had to wonder how far I could go on a full tank (which was only 18 gals in the factory tank until I add a custom 35 gal reserve).

Getting over 13mpg. running 70+ on 38's while towing in that weather isn't bad at all. And my guess on the windshield getting cracked again is April 24.. :))

I gained about 1.88 mpg when I put a wind break/deflector/stone guard on my flat bed trailer. Usually haul two YZ 250s and a Polaris Sportsman. Fabricated from 12 gauge aluminum diamond plate. It also cut down on rock damage to toys. Aluma has some specifically made for their trailers.

Well I'm guessing April 14th on the windshield . You didn't ask about a TJ, but my TJ with 35's 4:56 gears with no trailer attached is 12.5 to 13 Mpg . Jeep wranglers have the aerodynamics of pushing a brick underwater . lol And yes its smiles for gallon for sure . Take care guys .

I towed a pop up and 18 foot travel trailer. Ideally 55- 65 mph is where you want to be. Yes myself and all the subscribers, friends, family and the future folks that haven't seen 1 of your awesome vidios yet that keep me up at nights!HAHAHAHAHA (it's 4:30 am again, ) we want to see you for many years to come! Both the trailers were new but had 500 miles on each for shake down runs. The pop up trailer slept 8 the international travel all was a 304 v8 ( I hope my CRS doesnt get this to wrong) automatic transmission and 2 gas tanks. Both had sway bars and went cross Country to California over the Rockies, Went 55 to 6o mph. Went in 1967 and in 73. The Pop up had a wheel come, off a we watched it go by us. Some bone heads nelected to tighten the lug nuts when we went for new tires. We were fortunate we weren't going faster. Also with the, 18 ft we experienced a crazy violent side wind that made it look Like Jelly was tossing it from side to side. There is no doubt in my mind there could have been a worse outcome. Again I'm so impressed with how it tracks, it looks like it was on R.R. TRACKS and you and Brittany are excellent drivers. Dial your speed back 10 mph and 1(you all will be safer 2( getting 3 mpg easy. I would think the RIGHT tie down tarp would protect the razor and just might give you another 2 mpg. Happy safe trails and SMILES and hey 12 to 13 mpg ain't bad. We got 4 to 8 mpg pulling the travel trailer and 8 to 10 with the Pop up. My son is right beside me and he's excited to meet up with you guys in Daytona. When you drive a Jeep that's fun, reliable, can go 4x4 and go topless Id just put in the gas and know Im going to see places that are priceless and meet PEOPLE we will never forget. There is no doubt in my mind that had we been driving 65 to 75 mph might have missed it ALL. regards DJ

Ok so I was board at work tonight and was going through some of y'all's older videos and saw this one, I have a 2020 JLU sport on 35's with stock gears and I pull a 20 foot travel trailer with it that weighs about 3400 lbs with all our crap in it and I get almost 9 smiles to the gallon. Lol, I only wish I could get 13 plus with it. Great finish at KOH, looking forward to this years adventure y'all are planning on.

Hey guys great video! I have a 2015 JKU Rubicon, lifted 2.5" running 35s, stock engine, I tow a 19.5 foot bass boat combined weight of boat and trailer is @2400lbs..I get an average of 12mpg with it running 70-75 on highway. Not bad for driving a box I guess. Now your after market Glass, be watchfull if you start getting headaches or eye strain, as often times after market Glass APPEARS CLEAR on SHORT TRIPS say around town, but on LONG TRIPS the glass has imperfections in it that will cause eye strain..I don't sell windshields, a good friend of mine does for a living! He advised me of this when I replaced my windshield on my Jeep! Because I drive long distance, I chose OEM..just food for thought!! You guys are only about 3 hours from me in southern Illinois if you are inTenn! Stay safe have fun!!!

I have a 14 JKUR with 37’’ coopers, 410 gears 6 speed manual and tow a Honda Pioneer 1000/5 on a steel 12 foot tandem trailer and I get on average 12 mpg . Hauls great on highway but pretty sluggish on back roads or in town.Need the 5:13s for town and back roads

Not bad. My Sport on 35s with 3.45 gears gets about 15 MPG towing my 6x12 steel utility trailer with a load. The 8-speed is NICE when towing.

My 2016 JKU on 40's with 5.38's and Dana 60's (Jeep total weight was 6, 675) got around 12.5 on the highway. I had a 6.2 liter L86 V8 engine installed with an 8 speed transmission and an Atlas transfer case (Jeep total weight now 7, 002) and the mileage on the hwy went up to 16.2 mpg. These are averages running 70-75 mph on the highway (no trailer).
