I just picked a wii up on eBay a couple weeks back after not having one for at least 10 years I gotta say it has been a blast to revisit some of the my favorite games on here like punch out, donkey Kong country returns, super Mario galaxy, and Mario kart. Being able to homebrew it and get all the games for free plus games I never got the chance to try out really just makes it a better experience overall. For anyone considering getting a wii I highly recommend it

You know about Mario Galaxy! That game series is still my absolute favorite. I would not expect you to know. Your right that game is very optimized running at a steady 60 fps and it also has the best music I have ever heard. Both galaxy 1 and galaxy 2 are my favorite and I remember playing them around the time they came out. I wish they made another galaxy game but not with the modern Nintendo approach of things. Not that they are bad now but the old games were my favorite and Nintendo still remains as my favorite company. Simple Alpaca thank you.

The Wii Shop Virtual Console was incredible offering so many other consoles NES, SNES, N64, TG16, Genesis, Master System & Neo Geo plus the Arcade games & Wii Ware games just killed it!

If your Wii didn't have GameCube support, then you must of got your Wii in October of 2011 or later, considering that's when the Wii Family Edition game out

I HAVE LOVED THIS CONSOLE SINCE MY PARENTS BOUGHT IT FOR ME AND I STILL PLAY IT TODAY DESPITE GETTING A SWITCH OLED SOON! I love the variety of controllers and the motion controls. for people who are less informed about this: the black Wii can play gamecube games, it's just that *that* specific wii is a wii family, an in-between of the wii and wii mini, and it's easily distinguishable by the flipped logo on the front. however, the original black white wii are different too, because the white one has support for cd discs too, while the black one doesn't. so yea, if you wana get a wii, get an original white one

Yo! I still have my OG Wii! Lol. My GameCube game is still stuck in it! Til this day! Lol 🤣 I got the black one left. I had the blue one and the whit one. I was a Wii fanboy lol 😂

definitely yeah. the wii is absolutely among the best consoles of all time. first of all, the wiimote was so unique and revolutionary for its time, both in its design and functionality. its main purpose was to be interesting to a wider audience. it had the form of a common television remote and was held in one hand. infrared leds incorporated into the sensor bar (to be placed above or below the television) allowed the controller to perceive the pointing towards the screen, while the accelerometer integrated into the same controller allows it to perceive the inclination and rotation. players can also mimic actions and "feel" them through vibration rather than simply pressing buttons. the controller could be connected to the nunchuck, an accessory that acted as an analogue in the left hand while the wiimote could be used to press the buttons. and all these things gave a sense of freedom never seen before. now, talking about games, the wii has created a lot of masterpieces, examples: wii sports/wii sports resort, super mario bros wii, mario kart wii, super mario galaxy/super mario galaxy two, super smash bros brawl, skylanders saga, epic mickey one and two, inazuma eleven strikers and many others. and all of these games mentioned now allowed you to use most of the new wii mechanics. and finally, in addition to being among the best, it is among the best-selling consoles of all time with 101.63 million copies sold. i don't think we need to add anything else.

the Wii was MY CHILDHOOD and my dad told me it had a problem. So we had to get rid of it :( Now im gonna buy one myself i kept all my games for this moment :)

I think you made a really good point about the Wii being a console for people who don't really play games. Because as a gamer, the Wii is one of my least favorite consoles. I just bought one recently (my Step Dad had one back in the mid 2000's I only played it a little bit), mainly for GameCube purposes...I never owned a GameCube so I figured a Wii is FAR is cheaper, and it plays Wii games if I want to, two birds with one stone. GC games so far have been a blast...but going back to play some of the Wii games...not so much. I just highly detest motion controls...I tried to play some Mario Galaxy, and I'm not sure how yall could stand it, I really need to get me one of those Wii Pro controllers. Even with the Switch I can't with the Joycons...it's the Switch Pro Controller or nothing.
