Did You Know In ZOOTOPIA…

There is a small detail in the movie that actually reflects something about a certain animal in real life. During the movie, you will see that Chief Bogo, whenever he is reading something, is wearing glasses. Though this can be blended in as a small, meaningless character trait, it is actually a nod to the fact that his type of animal, the buffalo, has really poor eyesight. Now THAT’S a sneaky little detail right there.

The amount of research that went into Zootopia is honestly insane. I didn't even realize Bogo's glasses hinted at water buffalo having poor eyesight, but it's just another example of "God, Disney did their research for this!"

Another example is Mr. Big. The reason he's a shrew is because in real life, shrews have to eat 3 times their body weight per day, and this makes them one of the most intense animals in the arctic, because they have to be on the hunt for food almost constantly. Arctic shrews are also apparently only preyed on by owls, and considering how small they are that kinda surprised me.

Anyway yeah, a lot went into Zootopia to make the animals like their real life counterparts and it really shows. Disney really did their homework.
