My thoughts on Armstrong (with some bias as I’ve gone for him), is that Southampton are hoping to get Archer in to improve squad depth without compromising their quality.Especially with injuries. Armstrong has played under this manager for a good while and all of pre-seasons. Given how important Armstrong was to them last season, I would be surprised if he dropped in minutes significantly. It would be like Bamford with Leeds in their season back in the prem suddenly having a significant rotation risk despite putting in unbelievable numbers the season before. Armstrong's data (for championship) was really strong last season and we need to recall that strikers like Bamfrod, Toney, Mitrovic etc did well in their promoted seasons following a good year of returns in the championship.
We also need to keep in mind Jao Pedro has only played 45mins in Pre-Season and while he has the talent in the bag, is still a less established starting 11 member in Brighton compred to Armstrong and Southampton.

Can’t decide between rotating JP and ESR as my 7th and 8th attackers or rotating ESR with Rogers instead for the extra 0.5 to upgrade eze to solanke

I have a question, this is my first year of FPL. Every content creator talks about a early wildcard. But why not just use your 5 transfers in GW5 or use 4 transfers in GW4? I'm not expecting my whole team to flop, maybe a couple players and then you can transfer those right? Then you can keep the wildcard for later. Am I missing something?

Inclined to have the same team as you but Pope instead of Fabianski, Gabriel/Saliba instead of TAA and Rogers instead of Winks.

For the Eze to City plan I've considered going Henderson + Flekken, Gabriel/Saliba + Gvardiol + Porro + Dunk + 4.0, same midfield but Mavididi instead of ESR and same attack.

Pretty same team as you. Difference: Robinson instead of Konsa, Barco instead of Dunk and instead of Bruno+Winks I went Jota+ESR (to rotate with Joao Pedro).

I have Jota, Gvardiol and Muniz over Bruno, Porro and Winks. I really want to have Bruno, but i dont know where to get the budget otherwise.

I feel that the argument against adam armstrong is pretty weak. He's a nailed on 90 minutes striker but operates best on right wing. Southampton needs a CF in certain matchups and Brereton Diaz plays left wing so going for Archer does not affect Armstrong negatively. However Joao Pedro may very well be a better pick but definitely far riskier.

Def: Porro, Gvardiol, Mykolenko, Faes, Taylor
Mid: Jota, Palmer, Saka, Rogers, Smith-Rowe
Fwd: Haaland, Isak, Joao Pedro

Please could you let me know if there are any red flags in this team? Lost of ppl in fpl ytb scene not going for palmer and even though his ‘green’ fixtures are deceiving, I’m struggling to go without him - thoughts?

I think rotating flekken and hendo is very very underrated. I prefer them 2 over having raya despite it being cheaper. One for way better fixtures overall and also to have a backup.
