"The god of wisdom's enemy is wisdom itself and the oasis of knowledge is but a mirage in the desert of ignorance."
Your theory fits perfectly with this line Dainsleif said in the Teyvat chapter storyline trailer.

It's really interesting because if Kusanali is really a "god of dreams" then it would make a good contrast for the land of wisdom, since dreams and wisdom are opposites in a way. I mean, to this day dreams are barely explored in the real world and people know nothing about them or how they work. It would make more sense why the people of Sumeru despise Kusanali.

I think it's a better idea that Kusanali is actually a god of dreams instead of wisdom. Since it would completely mess up the "standards" (aka barbatos being the god of freedom and mondstadt the land of freedom, rex lapis being the god of contracts and liyue the land of contracts and so on). How can sumeru, a land of wisdom be ruled by a god of dreams? It makes sense storywise I'd say.

Maybe the festival is what keeps this "mirage" alive? And since they told them to stop the festival because it's meaningless, it's starting to disappear. It might also be connected to kusanali's consciousness though and since she feels pushed away, them canceling the festival is what really made her give up everything. However that seems kinda unlikely since sumeru existed long before her birth.

1:24 I guess that explains why Dainslief can talk about what the playable characters do in the collected miscellany. He learns their abilities and past from the leylines.

“What if the entire Sumeru Rainforest is a mirage?”

I think so too and I think the ones that are causing it is the Akasha System. The first time those Dendropods was shown to us, I really doubted its power because it is powered by the Dendro Gnosis and i think it is currently IN POSSESSION OF THE SAGES AND NOT BY KUSANALI (as it is hinted by the Sumeru previews, trailers, and interviews).

Those Dendropods really left me thinking that if the Akasha System is in possession of those greedy Sages, they can tweak that system in some way and that means the people of Sumeru are at great risk to hallucination, mind manipulation or media manipulation like misinformation or information filtering…🤔😳

The sus thing here is if Kusanali, the God of Dreams really holds the Akasha system (Dendro Gnosis), then all of Sumeru people are capable of dreaming, but in contrast, why are they not dreaming? thus the Gnosis is in possession of the Academia.

It's also interesting that the special areas for each character on the islands were termed "mirages", a term that is usually reserved for illusions in the desert. It certainly links in to what we're seeing with Sumeru...

If Kusanali is the God of Dreams, then maybe the whole ‘sumeru-disapearing’ scene is just the consequences of the Akademiya’s hatred towards Kusanali?
They rejected her, so when she left Sumeru, her powers are no longer here to maintaint Sumeru in it’s Utopic shape.
That’s what I think the story arc will look like, but knowing how far Hoyoverse can go, I wouldn’t be surprised if it went alot further than that

So, Irminsul was the one who do the "RNGesus Moves" to all of my Talent Book, Weapon Enchantment and Especially Artifact Roll? No wonder Dottore wants to Burn it, he's one of the Victim just like us

0:56 This came from one of Albedo's voiceover dialogues:
Interesting Things
(copied from wikia)
"You would like to know more about petrified trees? Erm... Actually, the petrified trees you have come across in domains aren't that ancient. Truly ancient trees usually grow to around one or two miles in height. Oh, and there's a kind of large spider that lives around their roots — if you tie one up in cape jasmine and lemongrass and sprinkle on some cardamom, smoke it for a few hours — you get a fragrant taste that's simply... unforgettable."

So Xiao eats snow, Paimon eats slime, Xiangling eats 300years old pork, and now Albedo eats *giant* spiders

I hope you read this Cat<
Here are my takeaways from the trailer:

I agree that Rukhadevata has the capability to view the Irminsul since she is intelligent and is the true God of Wisdom. I think that the cataclysm was set for her to die as she might get the grasp of the nature and history of the true world which Celestia forbids. Being an archon, it might be difficult for her to just follow Celestias rules and hiding the true nature of the world when she does know by looking at the Irminsul networks. She might reached out to the abyss or Kheanreans to unravel the truth and uproar the "second who came" in Celestia who has control over the archons. Then the rest is the story, she was "killed". My theory is that Sumeru is truly defeated and destroyed as their original archon was killed. Being knowledgeable with the Irminsul, she fused with it and created a fragment of herself and passed her role of being a "goddess of wisdom" to Kusanali who is a goddess of dreams and mirage. Using the "wisdom", Kusanali created a mirage based on the people's dreams during Rukhadevatas time. This mirage is close to reality. The mirage I am talking about is the Sumeru City. Within the new Sumeru under Kusanali, the followers of Rukhadevata continued to worship her as they dreamt of having a prosperous Sumeru under her command. Since she is gone, they came to know Kusanali but cannot accept her.

In the Fatui trailer, it may be Rukhadevata's consciousness in the Irminsul that Dottore is burning. The Fatui might collided with the sages to resurrect Rukhadevata but with hidden agenda on the Fatui's side. The Fatui might be gaining the gnosis from Rukhadevata since Kusanali is aware of the Fatui stepped into the Sumeru City, which is HER mirage.

The Subzeruz festival marks Kusanali's birthday. It might be the reason why she is little because people of Sumeru does not worship her or adhere to the essence of the festival. Meaning, Kusanali does not have the essence of a real birthday and does not grow. (yeah she is an archon but her stature reflects the way Sumeru people worships her)

Next is Rukhadevatas role, for the Fatui, they may be gaining access to her gnosis and celestial power. For the Abyss, a power for the loom of fate operation. For the sages, her resurrection, and for the Traveler. Rukhadevata might see him/her as a worthy individual who can fix Sumerus dilemma by making the sages accept Kusanali as the new goddess of wisdom and also the goddess of flowers. If like majority of the Sumerians now accept Kusanali, her mirage might become a reality.

The reason the dissipating Kusanali and Sumeru city is reflected by Sumerians perspective of worship. It might be altered by the Abyss or such but I guess it reflects whom the people worship. The illusion of Rukhadevatas Irminsul will be a reality if people continued to worship her. It will grow a tree slump if not. Sumeru City will exist of people follow Kusanali and it will disappear of not.

The Abyss lector line of "Are you just ignorant or just living in complete denial?" means that they remind the Sumeru people that everything is just an illusion and they need to accept that the true Sumeru perished 500 years ago and just living in a dream. the people might not accept that statement and might doubt the mirage they are living in which affects Kusanali as well.

Collei's vision of Dottore signifies that if people majority worship Rukhadevata, the Irminsul will become a reality and thus it would be catastrophic since the Fatui learns about it and destroys it to gain power esp the gnosis. They may be aware that it would be harder if they get the gnosis from Kusanali so they accepted and enflame the sages perspective of bringing back Rukhadevata. So I guess that the plotline of Sumeru will focus in making the people worship and accept Kusanali especially to the sages and scholars who are knowledgeable under the framework of Rukhadevatas concept. Truly accepting Kusanali might be the key for Sumeru to prosper. Rukhadevata might be in approval of this as per the line, "the world forget me".

This is just my thoughts so please take this lightly. Sorry for the errors in grammar and such. I wrote this while taking a break from review. Peace out.

When I heard of the Dendro Archon being the God of Wisdom, I imediately coonsidered as a Honkai CounterPart the Herrscher of Reason since it matches very closely. But seeing what the story will be centred around along with Theresa being the reference for Kusanali. I think I get how they are choosing their characters... as welll as who is the reference for the Previous Dendro Archon.

In Honkai Impact, Theresa is the headmaster for Saint Freya's school for young girls who would become Valkyries. This was not something she had previously wanted but chose to to do. Much like Kusanali is the Dendro Archon in Sumeru and governed by the Akademiya. But the whole place was made by the previous Dendro Archon who was kind and powerful... in Honkai, Theresa chose to create the school and inheret this dream from Cecilia, who had died in the second Eruption. She was the strongest Valkyrie and wilded the Abyss Flower Divine key. This means they aren't basing their Archons on their equivalents powers and theme, but exclusively their themes. Which can help understand where the story will be going moving forward.

As for the connoundrum in Sumero... I feel like the voice actor who said their god shall return was the same one that spoke of that land being one of Knowledge and reason. Meaning the main enemy may very well be the sage in charge. I also don't think the people hate Kusanali, but rather seem to be the ones who cherish her most since they do want to celebrate her. The sages on the other hand seemed to want their old god back. I also don't think Sumeru is vanishing... but rather, something else is happening. If Kusanali can see what's goign on from far away as revealed in the new Archipelago, this could imply she isprobably the most aware Archon of the group. Things may get interesting moving forward.

I've been wondering why they used a child model for Kusanali—it all makes sense now since children are the epitome of creativity and dreams (i.e. see the world in child-like wonder). This could also relate to the fact that there are spirits in Sumeru that only children can see (and for some reason, the traveller who is >500 y/o can also interact with).

These archon powers are getting out of hands. We know archons are capable of sealing there nation with elemental powers and can create there realms and change terrains. but putting a whole nation in genjutsu? That's a new bar of hacks if the theory is turned out to be true.

5:12 doesn't the capsule look like that one we get from chasm area where u unlock three totems and get "the seed" like something from the chest? that seed however looks like a withered version of this

" The Oasis of Knowledge is just a Mirage in the Desert"

If the Dream Theory is true then the above quote is to be taken in a literal sense, which would be really surprising.

Also at 4:58 you'll notice that there's a flashed shadow of the Divine knowledge capsule at the left.

In Albedo's and Ei's demo, hyv also showed a copy of them. And later on we had found out that there were two Albedos (Real Albedo and Susbedo) and two Ei's (Makoto and Ei).

It's safe to assume that hyv is not only putting this just for pizazz, but it also have relevance to their story.

End point is there might be two divine knowledge capsules. And I'm guessing one is from Kusanali and the other is from Rukkhadevata since they're both god of wisdom.

Also, the one who spoke "The world forget me" is 90% Kusanali. It seemes like a bassed version of her voice with echoes. Plus the tone is kinda childish which fits Kusanali more. Also before this was stated, Kusanali glitched out of existence followed by Sumeru fading away. I think it's because since her people won't accept her, she just wished for them to "forget" her.

The previous Archon was probably the only one who had access to the Irminsul terminal and when she died, all the knowledge disappeared with her. The sages knowing this, used her gnosis to create the Akashi system to spread the lies that Sumeru was still the center of all knowledge in Teyvat even when they knew they had no more access to that information anymore. The sages of 500 years ago must have discovered the new Archon's ability to create dreams as a way to subjugate the people of Sumeru to this lie. Probably helped the sages maintain their authority by having her prove their theories to be correct through the dreamlike power.

I think the Withering is the result of lacking the previous Archon's knowledge to properly maintain the rainforest and the desertification leaking through from the abyssal power. The current Archon can only keep the illusion that Sumeru is still a rainforest nation, but the reality is that the nation is slowly becoming a desert and is only being preserved by the current Archon's power. I think the current sages have known about this and despise the current Archon because she can no longer maintain the dream to suppress the desertification for much longer and being much more loyal to the previous Archon's ideals.

It seems the Fatui made a deal with the dissenting sages dissatisfied with the current Archon's inability to save Sumeru and different ideology. The sages probably wanted the Fatui technology and in exchange, curb the current Archon's influence and study her powers. Also, the Fatui under the pretense that they will research the tree using their technology to regain access back to the sages, but in actuality probably want to destroy it instead since it's from Celestia. The Abyssal ones are probably causing this desertification to be severe enough to break through the current Archon's dream powers.

I think the current Archon's power of her dreams only work if the people believe it to be true and that the dream is their current reality. With the sages not happy with the current Archon, they cancelled the festival where the most people are gathered to maintain the dreamlike reality, thus fulfilling their deal for the Fatui's aid. This greatly weakens the current Archon's powers and the dreamlike reality itself had people disappearing, possibly individuals that once existed and had become part of this dreamlike reality.

Bro he literally predicted the entire Sumeru Plot. It was proven that the elders and sages think of dreams as irrational and illogical, and wisdom implies rationality. And the fact that Rhukkadevata is literally the God of Wisdom and Kusanali's the God of Dreams.

We all know dain in teyvat interlude trailer said sumeru is a mirage in a dessert of ignorance. But damn didn't know it wasn't some kind of metaphor and just legit 💀

These theories confirm one thing to me; that the theme is going to be the complete opposite of Inazuma…instead of the god controlling its people, it’s now the people trying to inhibit its god, which is a very interesting turn around from what we’ve seen so far
