With a difference of 100 USD from 8600g to 8700g.. The 8600g is the real winner of cost/performance. And the single thread performance of the 8700g is only 1.6% higher than the 8600g. About the performance of the 8th gen compared to the 5th gen, the DDR5 makes all the difference. It's not like the integrated graphics became way more advanced. The 5th gen uses 3200mhz DDR4 and the 8th gen uses 6000 mhz DDR5 in those tests.

I think next upgrade of the G series processor will really destroy Gpu market for 1080p gaming.

I really like the ideas of APUS like these, its a shame that they aren't really worth it. The 5600g was only a great option as its price remained low during the GPU shortage. I hope that the APUS can become even more of a price-to-performance gem.

using ryzen 7 5700g for gaming gives solid performance and good 60 fps in most of the games

Awesome video ! . Never thought a apu can work like this, but still I guess there is still a room for development as these games are not running as good as it should be ( leaving gta 5 is old optimized game) . But they have did good so far right now... But if anyone thinks to buy 8700g for gaming i may suggest getting an intel i3 12100f or ryzen 5500 with any entry level gpu .
Amd is going to rock 🎉

8600g is the true winner here.
Overclock it and it'll smoke the value of the 8700g.
I have 5700g and overclocked ram and igpu.

Thanks, nice comparison video. If you include 1% low (fps) for your next video that would be perfect.

I knew it was coming- true apu gaming! The 5000g got close and were the best at the time but I knew they'd be blown away by ddr5 gen. I just couldn't wait any longer with my 10yr quad core 3770 and made my build when the 5700g made the drop to £250 last year. later got a 3060 card and upped to 64gb of ram (started with 32 and got the other kit along with the gpu as the price dropped). Seeing this is like "the prize i could have won" but I wouldn't have been able to play the games i have with what I had before getting eight cores. To think when I built my last machine- ddr3 was the newer thing and I payed ahead with 16gb when most went for 8! It served me well- I stayed behind this time to save a buck- I hope my ample ram and reasonable core count will see me through another 10 yrs.... 1 down 9 to go!

Can you please test the new budget LOQ variants from 2024?
I am specifically asking for the one with i5-12450HX and rtx 3050 (6GB) and the one with the same cpu and Intel ARC GPU.

Wow, the Radeon 780M is equivalent or slightly superior to the GTX 1650 Ti laptop and RTX 3050 Max Q

This video is really an amazing job. Congrats for that. And... Ryzens are really beasts in the graphics. That's truly impressive...

What cooler did you use for the 8700G in the test?

Thanks to mobile gaming devices like the Steam Deck, iGPUs are taking off. Great times!

There is some unfair point. 5000-series APU can OC memory to 4200+Mhz with easy (even really cheap memory stick`s like G.Skill AEGIS F4-3200C16D-16GIS !!!). 7000-series of ryzen APU also can OC memory over 6000 Mhz, but it no so profitable like OC on 5000-APU (bcoz of asynchro-OC - Infinity Fabric OC is really low on 7000-APU - around 2300-2500MHz).
So more fair comparison will be with midrange price memory OC.

I am purchasing lenovo loq with i5 13450hx rtx, 4060, 2k 100% srgb display, 16gb ddr5 4800 mhz ram for 110000₹
is it a good deal? or should i go with i7 13650hx? going with the i7 one will cost me more 11000₹.
What should i do? Please tell

Por la diferencia de precio, es preferible un 5600g para tener un mínimo funcional y para mejorar en rendimiento, colocar una placa dedicada

It's better to get DDR5 without GPU or get DDR4 with a GPU for a 800$ PC?
