The fold 3 is awesome. Bought it Jan this year for my bday and I love everything about. It's the best phone I had so far. It's a do it all phone. I love it.

I bought this phone like 6 months for $550 on ebay, and it was definitely worth it. Besides having to replace my screen protector, which was free, and being overly worried of dust it has been a good phone. The only real complaint is the battery life, on average is 3 to 4 hours with heavy use.

So I purchased the Z fold 3 just under a year ago, last week it developed the "Black line of Death".
Why isn't there more discussion about this which is a massive design flaw in this model which should be highlighted resulting in a recall?
On purchase the instructions and guidance state not to remove the inner screen protector BUT over time the material used becomes brittle and starts damaging the inner screen when pressed resulting in bubbling and eventual screen damage. The inner right-hand screen then ceases to respond to touch. This is a known issue that isn't but should be discussed and highlighted to protect potential buyers.

I moved from Galaxy S20 plus to Fold 3 in Nov 2021, topped up for 2-year samsung care, so I'd get 2 free screen protector replacements. The inner display protector finally bubbled in Oct 2022, so I did one change. Otherwise it is a joy to use, dust doesn't really bother the phone much, I always have a case on so after 1 drop it was still good. Only on days when I wouldn't have access to power, on the go, I'd bring a portable battery to charge it when I'm not using it so it'd last throughout my day easily. Cameras on it aren't ultimate but good for the occasional kids candid shots and videos. I love to read on it as it just feels like a good size ebook reader. I worked on it, accessed Oracle web tools on it, used Dex on external display with it, made calls (lol) with it. Only peev is there is no nice case that has a pretty design and also has a s pen holder on the side, by the left of the phone. Cases with s pen holder is either plain and dull or it is in the back, which renders the phone unable to lie flat on table to do any proper writing... I love the Samsung Notes app, I take meeting notes with it, draws up my weekly tasks with it, on my Tab S8 plus and it syncs perfectly to the Fold 3 and Windows laptop so I can be without my tab and still access everything. It is perfect with its imperfections, I'd only consider switching in 2024, if Fold 6 has enough impressive improvements.

I got mine around the time you made this video lol. I like it. I was coming from the note 10+ so it was a decent upgrade. Although note 10+ is a beast. But i got it open box for $600. Better than paying $1, 200 for the fold 4 when it's not much different 🤷‍♂️

Closing in on 2 years with this phone. I typically like uograding every year.. but the battery is the only flaw as a heavy user. Carry around a power bank and no issues...

I really want to get one of these. I really am looking at the Fold 3 mainly for price, but with the Fold 5 coming out soon I am hesitant to the 3 over the 4. I guess my main concern is consistency. Will it last at least 5yrs with consistency? Camera quality doesn't matter to me

Fold 3, It's the worst ever handphone I had used in last 30 years. Protect screen pop out after 9 mths. Speaker did not work just few days after 1 year. Now it automatically switch off when fold it after 1 year 9 mths usage . Repair cost is about SGD $700++, and no trade in value. I will never buy Samsung brand any more !!!

I still believe the Razr 5G and even Razr 2019 are the best-looking foldable clamshells of all-time. They look like RAZRs with the classic chin. They're shaped like a Lamborghini or Ferrari when set on a table.

That folder shape on the Z Flip 5 looks kinda ugly but whatever. At least the cover display is much bigger. I can imagine that folder shape will annoy people trying to watch videos. My Razr 5G's 2.7" is shaped almost like the 4:3 TVs. Perfect to watch old sitcoms on it.

Currently using my Flip 3 again as my daily driver. For some reason, my recently unlocked Razr 5G from T-Mobile can't work on AT&T's prepaid unlimited plan. It's getting more incompatible due to the different 5G bands these carriers uses and AT&T has a whitelist of phones that will work on their network.

I'm fine with the 1.9" cover display on the Flip 3 because it means it saves a lot of battery life. I would stream Three's Company or I Love Lucy episodes from the Pluto TV app and it won't drain battery very much. Maybe 10% after every 1-hour or more.

I definitely prefer the CoverScreen OS app over SamSprung app because you can swipe up to go back and right to turn the tiny display off. My Razr 5G is now used to play I Love Lucy episodes stored on it and that too last for hours if shown on the cover display and it's not being streamed from Pluto TV.

I think I'm good with my Flip 3 and Razr 5G until they break. I just got out of a T-Mobile account I was forced to be in for 2 years from a trade-in promo for an iPhone 12 mini I only kept for 4 months. With AT&T, it's 3 years. I'm very happy being on a $20 monthly unlimited prepaid plan with AT&T under ACP.

A lot of these new phones are more of the same. I really could care less if the Flip 5 has a bigger cover display because my already paid off $500 Razr 5G provides that for me. I don't want to be stuck paying another 2 to 3 years for another newer Flip when the upgrades are meaningless for my usage.

If I win a lot of money from my NBA bets in June, my next purchase is likely a Steam Deck. I'm more focused on gaming handhelds as of late than smartphones.

Bought this half a year ago, didn't drop once, started showing pixels issues, sent for warrant told was dropped warrant wouldn't cover, I guess that's their excuse not to honor warranty, never buy another one, product will fail whoever bought one.

If you want a more useful cover display, you would need to get the book-style folds. They're going to be bigger, heavier, and more expensive but they offer a cover display where you don't need to open it up to do most tasks. It's a slab stacked onto another slab.

If you want a foldable that's more pocketable and cheaper, then get a flip. Just don't expect to do a lot of tasks from the usual landscape cover display. Most people will not enjoy browsing or replying to texts and email from a 3.5" display. This isn't 2007 any more.

Most of the apps I put on my Razr 5G's cover display are apps like YouTube, Netflix, Tubi, Pluto TV, QuickPic, and GMaps. That's only 6 apps. I used to have more but why bother? I didn't enjoy browsing from it. I prefer opening it up with apps that involves typing.

So the Razr 40 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 5 could have these bigger cover displays and it really doesn't matter. They're still mostly useless. I've owned my Flip 3 and Razr 5G for more than 18 months and I don't use many apps from the cover display.

The Fold is what you want if you don't want to keep opening it up to do most daily tasks.

Do not buy one of these phones, the screens break through normal use as does the WIFI. I had one that lasted 9 months which was replaced by samsung due to screen issues i.e the display would go off then back on for no reason and that replacement lasted for 9 months before the wifi died. Both phones didnt have a scratch and had light usage. They are an expensive prototype released to customers at best.

I'm testing the Samsung Fold 4 right now, and honestly it's best for gaming and browsing. Other than that, is just average I feel. 1/3 of the asking price and I'd buy it
