Becoming a Pokemon World Champion is More Than Cards 🏆

The road to becoming Pokemon World Champion starts at this local card game shop in Anderson, Indiana! In this Pokemon documentary we follow the journey of Pokémon competitor Isaiah as he takes his first steps at a regionals Pokemon tournament! Pokemon World Championships is the goal but every Pokemon trainer has to have a starting point, the local card game store. Growing up as a girl, I was discouraged from liking Pokemon and was told it was a game for boys. So seeing Isaiah choose the pink sleeves and mat and hearing his dad be so supportive of his hobby really warms my heart. I have found myself losing some of my joy in the pokemon hobby, then a bunch of people showed up to the leauge last week when there have just been on or two people the last few months. This was amazing to watch from start to finish. Isaiah is an absolutely kind and gentle soul with lots of Pokémon knowledge. You can see his passion shine through when he talks about Pokémon. Even with the losses, he stays positive and learns from them. He thinks steps ahead of his opponent while competing which indicates how much he's learning.
