Strange New Worlds is here! Are you excited? I’m excited… I wonder what gave it away? WHICH MEANS it’s about time to do a very special ship breakdown video indeed, while we focus on a ship that was under the command of Captain Christopher Pike, and eventually some dude who died when a bridge fell on his face.

I'll just say this: I'm 45 and one of the first projected fi[ms I saw was The Wrath of Khan. I was hooked, immediately. I have since consumed all things Trek, literally (and not the way my daughters use the word). Over the years, Star Trek has brought me JOY! Good or bad, it's always been joy, and that seals the deal for me. I'll eat this up with a spoon, and I will throw money at every version, again and again, because I am, at heart, a realist and a scientist at heart. Growing up on a rural, non-light polluted 165 acre cattle farm looking at constellations with your dad, eagerly awaiting the next VHS rental of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos"...you just can't beat that, folks. It's Trek...bring it on.

They did the Connie justice with this version. It holds true to the 60s version, with just enough modern changes to make it look, honestly, even better. Much much better than that hideous 2009 JJ trek version.

The constitution was the flagship of the federation. The enterprise was part of an exploratory fleet. Mapping the outer regions of federation territory and documenting inhabited worlds.

The natural lighting and no lens flares is so refreshing. It has the TNG feel with the overhead lighting.

Being one of the persons that watched the pilot many centuries ago (yea, I am old) I sat there with my father. He passed away 2 years ago but there are many fond memories. As a child & teenager we watched Star Trek, Buck Rodgers, Battle Star Galactica (both versions) & many other series over the past 5 decades. To watch The Cage & The Menagerie with my father places it in a special place for me. That started my adventures into Sci-fi. Well, I was propped up on pillows from what my dad told me. I was only 2 I think. I would have to look up when it actually aired. '65 I believe. Even my mom says I would stare at the console until the show was over.

Constitution class Enterprise never been my favourite but after second episode in, OMG I’m in love. The aesthetic, the vibe the design of the interior is gorgeous, retro but also ultra modern like an Apple store. The ship itself is industrial and purposeful with a hint of menace. Not bloated. Gonna get a model of this

Looks like Star Trek is actually back! So far this is what I was hoping for.

The problem is that Pike's Enterprise looks more advanced than the Enterprise refit from Star Trek the Motion Picture.

First, let me say Pike's Enterprise looked a lot more spiffier that Kirk's in TOS. (Of course, they didn't have the budget back then.) Also, Pike's Enterprise has a larger crew complement than Kirk's. In the 2009 reboot, the number was said to be between 700 and 800. I doubt we will get to see the Enterprise under Kirk's command, since this series is ten years before the 'Holy Trinity.' So far, I'm loving the series!

I’d like to say the fireplace - which no party goers mention on cam - is a primitive holo tech decoration.

This show looks pretty good what sucks is that you have to have paramount plus to see it!

I'm missing the joke dig at the actor portraying Robert April why his character moved on giving command of the Enterprise to Pike. Is that some TOS pre production lore I've never heard of? 🤔

Finally, they get it right. Not since TNG have I been so excited by a Star Trek show

Definitely the best looking Enterprise in a long time. I want a model of it ASAP!

I want to see the Constitution on screen with her hull registry of NCC-1700 finally canonized

The thing is, it's not like the Enterprise (original 1701) hasn't been retrofit multiple times! Come the movies, the hallways became narrow and more submarine-like than the more expansive halls seen in the Original Series. I've really enjoyed Strange New Worlds so far, and I can't wait to see more of this legendary Vessel - hopefully, it can get more seasons than the original did!

One thing I think they really got right in addition to the structural design is the lighting. It's just so warm and it all blooms without the need for lens flare. It's just cozy and happy. I love it.

I got a really good feeling of SNW. DISCO season 2, Captain Pike was the highlight and saved the show. Now they gave him his own show.

The walk area behind/around the transporter could be for when a large number of people need to be beamed up or down in an emergency. For instance: Without it, people on the back pads would need to cross over the front transporter pads to get off of it, whereas in an emergency where you are beaming up as many people as possible, people can just hop straight off the pad they beamed up on and then have a convenient corridor for them to get out of the way while the next group is being beamed up. Whether we'll ever see it used or if it's just a fun little design thing, who knows.
