It's about time somebody reminded people how truly world class David Beckham was as a footballer. If we can reach 10, 000 likes on this one, we'll make this the start of a series on the channel. What other players would you like us to look into?

World class for me is the ability to turn a game on it head and Beckham did that consistently for club and country. Souness wishes he had a tenth of his technical ability.

Zlatan summarized it. Beckham had the streets then. Now also. Besides everything, he is a treble winner and was a world class player. Came second in the Ballon D Or race.

Great work Sam.
I’m proud to be part of the best channel to represent Man United and our players.
Beckham setting the standards on how to be world class.

As a kid my introduction to how important the number 7 was in football was with Cantona and Beckham.

These two have contributed to why Man Utd’s number 7 has so much weight to it. Classy players, both of them in different ways.

Damn, someone needs to make sure Becks sees this. Utter quality. Well done, Same and the team.

I still remember getting the new Predator boots for Xmas as a kid and not being able to wait to get outside and take free kicks in them with my mates. I feel sorry for newer United fans not having players nowadays that gave you that longing to be a United player as much as Beckham did for my generation.

People forget how massive he was. Just watch reels of the Japan WC and when he hit LA. It was absurd how big he was globally…and he backed it up every week for 20 years. Without question, to me, the greatest English export of all time, both in sports and as an ambassador.

Thanks Sam, that's a brilliant reminder of what a truly special talent he was. I always loved the fact that he didn't just rely on his talent either, he was a real grafter too and gave everything on the pitch.

100% worldclass! He is the reason I started supporting United as a kid.

(Edit) In today's game he'd be a box-to-box CM I reckon or maybe a 10. He was tailor made for these positions.

Souness thought Ali Dia was Premiership Quality. Nuff said.

Beckham was World Class. Best passer of the ball I've ever seen. Best free kick taker I've ever seen. Played with so much heart every game.

Souness is an absolute nob.

I support United today because at 8 years old (in 2002) I saw a guy in a red top take a set piece. I begged my dad for that shirt and he (not knowing the difference) got me a number 10 Bergkamp shirt (Yes, I was that close to supporting Arsenal.) Thank God I remembered the guy I saw was number 7. He soon left United but his replacement wasn't bad at all.

David Beckham is THE reason I support United. He's the reason I wore #7 in every sport. He's the reason my kids support United. Underappreciated doesn't even begin to explain it, honestly.

He's a mix of De Bruyne on the field and Cristiano off it. How he stays so seemingly level headed is almost as impressive as his right foot.

Brilliant! I was there at OT when he played his final game. He was outstanding and left United too early in his career in my view.

People seem to forget that Sir Alex Ferguson also uses him a central midfielder when needed. His work rate was very good. His crossing of the ball was brilliant. His freekick ability was deadly. He had a winning mentality. He drove the ball forward fearlessly. What a player! 🙂

For me Beckham is football. He is the reason, why I stared watching football, and I am a fan of Man utd.

Most people don't understand what type of inhuman ability do they need to give such long high pass.

David Beckham was one of the best footballers I've ever witnessed, his passing/crossing/dead ball ability was unmatched. Beckham is an absolute perfectionist his clothes, his looks and the way the ball left his foot, it just moved different in the air to anything i've ever seen before, it's like the ball knew he'd kicked it and took flight with majestic grace and rotation. It would hang in the air what felt like forever floating in slow motion before landing with pin point accuracy on the end of a forwards boot or caressing the inside back of the net completeing the picture of what he saw in his mind, he was incredible and very much missed by us United fans.
