Electric Start NOT Working on KTM? Here is why!

This problem happens to a lot of the newer KTM dirtbikes! Not many people know that the ground goes bad over time on theses ktms! Hope this helps!

Spot on for my issue. I was about 30 minutes into checking everything. (That had literally worked fine an hour before.) Battery good, hear clicking, etc. But trying to cross over the solinoid it did nothing. I was thinking wire harness issue that would *suck* to deal with. Came in to try my Google-Fu. Your video popped up. Hmmm. Easy to try. Yeah, as soon as I realized that removing the ground had it sparking a little. Clean it up and off it goes. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the help, fixed the problem on our 2017 KTM 300 XCW.
BTW, we use and abuse our KTMS (2017 and 2018 300XCW) regularly and they are work horses.
I'm surprised at how much abuse they can actually take and they keep on ticking!

Use sandpaper to clean the lead and put grease on the contact points. Also, check the battery using a load test not just a V-meter, you'll get 12 v but it could be a bad battery.

had this issue my self, it also created issues on the tpi where it could cut out on the road
not rev hard & bring on the EML light
