First Time Driving For Lyft

Today I am going to try and make some money by joining lyft and going online for the first time. Driving for lyft is not something I usually do. How much do lyft drivers make is something I have been asking myself before I decided to just go out there and do it myself. You yourself can try it in your own market as the results may vary. It is not super hard to make money, all you need to do is just go online and obtain a vehicle (which you can rent one as well.) First time driving for lyft videos aren't as common and I hope mine shows you how much you can make and what it is like from the inside.

In this video I was trying out lyft in a different market from ym home market of Atlanta, GA and I was in Miami, FL for this video. Miami is an interesting place and it is filled with tolls as well. I would say that if you don't pay attention to those tolls, they will rack up very quickly.

While this experience does not show exactly how yours might be, mine was like this the first time around. I always give new opportunities that present themselves as not ideal a second chance and I will be doing it again soon. It is something you should look into, because it can make you a decent amount of money on the side, or even become your full time gig.

I hope this video shows you a little inside of what it is like to drive for lyft as well as the financials of driving with a platform like lyft, because there is not that much information that drivers are willing to share with others on their earnings.

12:50 5:15 is 4 hours 5 min. 80.81 / 4hr = 20.20 per hour. You have a gas hog and the algorithm is set to have people active longer so 6-12 hour drives are best bet to make more but your forgetting .56 irs mileage back at the end of the year. Basically what your seeing is your efficiency. Now if you had a hybrid or a long range electric doing short local drives even if estimating with hybrid 30 miles before use of gas so for the 4 hr trip - your maintenance. Since it’s self employment and you know your tax deductibles you can get back money on purchase cost if you use it as a company vehicle as expense with advertising which can be the stickers and light. You do a depreciation value that way and you won’t need to bother saving money for all that. You can make car expenses work for you. ... "If you use your car exclusively in your business, you can deduct car expenses, " said IRS representative Sara Eguren. If you use your car for both business and personal purposes, you must divide your expenses based on actual mileage." If you purchase the vehicle and choose to do the actual expense instead of mileage, you can write off the actual expenses, including gas, insurance, tires, repairs, etc., as well as depreciation. So, if you have a $50, 000 car with 100% business use, $50, 000 divided by five years is a $10, 000 tax write-off every year.

I love doing Lyft, I drive in NJ and average $30 per hour and avoid the airport unless dropping a rider off. Now with the new bonus zones making more money is easier then ever, Some have been as high as $80 and you only have to accept 1 ride to collect it. Took me a few weeks to find the sweet spots and now I have regular passengers who tip weekly.

I did it for the 1st time today. I was a little nervous. 1 person didn't speak English. The rest really didn't talk. 7 rides. 1 tip so far. Did about the same amount of time as you. I am physically exhausted. Out of work so my options are limited.

So basically $12 an hour risking your life and vehicle. Sounds like one of the worst jobs out there.

Lyft and Uber drivers don’t realized that they are not an employee of Lyft or Uber, they are only sub-contractors so stop complaining about not getting paid enough. You accepted the price for your ride so why complain??? Lyft and Uber will try to offer$$ you as little as possible to get you to do a job so they can profit more, smart business strategy. It’s no different than me hiring someone to power wash my drive way. If I got a guy that will power wash my driveway for $50 and another guy that will do the same job for $25 of course I would hire the guy that would do it for cheaper to save me money. Lyft and Uber are in business to make profits not in it for charity work, they will continue paying you as little as possible until every drivers nationwide come together and organize a 3/4 day national strike than Lyft and Uber will realized that the drivers are the backbones of the ride share industry. They will start taking less percentage% from the drivers fares or else they won’t have anyone driving for them and bankrupt their billion$$$$ enterprise. So drivers across this country be smart, come together and put your feet down. If someone is offering you peanut to do a job then why do
